My mum's gone crazier...

So my mom had her heart set on this 'settlement' coming in from the government, basically, she was trying to scam some free money.

You see, 10-15 years ago she got in a car accident, and apparently it messed up her jaw so bad that this many years later, she still can not work because of it...

She has been trying to get this settlement for the longest time, and finally she found out she won't ever be getting it.

She must have spent money she didn't have... Or she must have done something...

Ever since she found out she disconnected her cellphone, and has dissappeared completely, nobody has heard from her or anything.

I'm not worried about her, but more so for my younger brother.
She dropped him off at her house yesterday at 4:00 PM and then took off, saying she'd be back in 10 minutes, and she hadn't come back all night, so I had to go get him with my dad at 11:00 PM last night.

I don't know what to say to my brother, I feel extremely sorry for him, he's too young to deal with all this.

I think my family is completely fucked man... And yeah, I do make topics about my family often... I don't want attention or anything, people say I attention whore... I just share it with people, it's partly interesting and partly a way to get it off my back.

Look at it this way man at least you're not like me. My sister got in a car accident but the driver was under the influence and the other drive broke a traffic law and she was going to get 1 million dollars but, she was on drugs so we decided to not get her a settlement because she would end up buying more drugs. I could of been rich.

And I doubt she could get 1 million from an accident. Regardless of the other driver being under any influence.

The backstory is basically...
She wanted money from the government, and she didn't get it.
I assume she spent money she didn't have on hard drugs again, and ended up not getting the money, therefore not being able to pay off these drug dealers. She disconnects her phone so nobody can contact her, and takes off, she leaves her purse at the mall, and takes off.

It's something my mum would do really, and it makes most sense at this point especially because of her history with drugs and shit.

I don't know what to do about it, I'm just hoping my brother's ok.

She overdosed on Sleeping Pills 2 weeks ago, in the hospital they tested her for drugs and found out she was positive for cocaine.

She said she got lost out side of town and the truck ran out of gas, she flagged down some guy apparently and got a ride in.
This is bullshit.
The truck has a quarter tank full, and emergency gas.
Her husband and my older brother saw her and said she looked more fucked up than ever before.
She's in the psych-ward now... And I really just want to find out who all her little fucking crack-head friends are and I really really want to go shoot them all in the fucking skull.

Eh, just give it time again because didn't she say last night she would go to rehab? She came here, and I wasn't here so I wouldn't know.
But it's stupid, a week ago Ty, she was telling me how terrible coke/crack is, and how awful she feels, how sorry she is, etc etc. Haha. What a dumb lying fucking bitch. I'm not going to waste my time talking to her ever again. She fucked up, she's lost me in the past and this time she's lost me forever, she'll always be my mom, but she'll never be a mom to me.

I can empathize with you here, and I've made that same judgment a couple years ago with my own mother. I'm glad my mom isn't messed up with drugs, but being schizophrenic is probably nearly as bad.

A drug addict and a mentally unstable person go through very similar and unpredictable cycles. You can have good days, bad days, good periods, and bad ones. Unfortunately my own mother has been on one of these "bad" cycles, and phones me every couple of days from her "home" somewhere in BC. I don't listen to my mom anymore, I let the calls from her go to voicemail, and promptly delete the message.

I get postcards and presents too. I can't bear keeping them around. I usually throw them out, sometimes without even opening them.

I feel what its like. It was especially confusing being only 3 and 4 years old, having to deal with it.

That "care" is usually depressing information, or depressing in that it is a reminder of how she's not all right. You can't help somebody who doesn't want help. If I had schizophrenia, I probably wouldn't want help either.

The drugs they give you change who you are. On the outside it might seem like my mom is who she used to be 20 years ago, but inside there's all sorts of shit happening. You can tell there's a change when you're taking the drugs, and even if it is for the better, it still feels wrong.
