Drug Use: Should It Be Allowed?

Now in the UK, a government advisor stated that LSD, Cannabis and ecstasy were less harmful than some legal drugs like alcohol and tobacco. It has caused a media storm, other scientific government figures resigned due to his sacking, which i feel was completely unjust.
His name was Professer Nutt, which inevitably has caused some groups calling him Professer Nutty.
It has split the nation and i myself cant really say alot, due to my inexpirience in this particular field. However i do know that if alcohol were discovered today, it would be banned so in that way prolonged or indulgent use of alcohol is far more dangerous to the body than LSD, Ecstacy and cannabis.
I just want to know, do you agree with Professer Nutt, and feel these currently illegal drugs shoud be legalised or do you feel that the current system is ok?

One of the main arguments for cannabis legalization is that the government only legalizes harmful substances that they can tax and make money on.

Since cannabis and, to some extent, LSD can be created in the home environment, the government wouldn't be able to tax their production and distribution as successfully as they can with alcohol/tobacco.

So to answer your question - No, I don't think illegal drugs will be made legal until the government discovers an angle to make money from the legalization.

That's a huge step for the UK to take. Cannabis would be the only logical substance to legalize. Although ectacy and LSD are possibly less harmful than pharmecuetical drugs and alchohol, they do cause long-term damage if abused.

yeah, it's pretty much a cheaper and less risky version of Crystal meth... but I wouldn't take it, the last thing I could think of doing would be Marijuana, and there's no harm in smoking it really cuz it's a plant.

Also, flashbacks are nothing like what people seem to imagine they are.

It's not caused by residual LSD, because LSD has an incredibly short half life, and if evacuated completely out of the body in less than a week.

A flashback is simply a memory of the experience. You might, for a couple of seconds, see the walls breathe slightly, or see sound, or have an unusual shift of consciousness, but that's only a result of being primed to the experience.
