I didn't get a place in the top five for the violent encounter contest but what do guys think my entry? it got a pretty good score on the portal and it was front paged so i am not too bummed about not getting a place in the top 5. besides i had fun and the winners entries are really good.
and therealshadman was an obvious winner.
anyway like i sed tell me what you think and also are there any other good competitions that you think are worth having a look at?

I wouldn't get bummed out about not placing. I'm pretty happy you major players in the art portal joined in.

Pic-wise, yeah I like the design of the fish-bloke, B-movie/comic book style with skeletal frame and hollow eyes, full marks.

Colour-wise, they're all too dark! It's a struggle to look at the picture, and lighter colours would put more emphasis on the pitch-black shading in your line work.

it was a great submission, and you nailed it.

I think one of the concerns was visibility, its a nice rustic lookin piece but its really hard to see or understand the image. for a while we though the monster was raising from his own shadow when we realized it was water.

it was in the top ten though

cool. i know what you mean. for some reason i have have to lower the exposure sometimes to post it on the net. making the drawing really dark :( it is something i am trying to figure out and fix.
