I have a desktop with 256 mb of ram and I want to upgrade to 2 gigs. The one in th shop is a ddr2 and the one I have is a ddr 1 would I be able to use the ddr2?

From what I understand, no, you need to have DDR1.

No, you can only use DDR1 RAM
Also, if your computer came with 256 megs of DDR1 RAM then depending on the quality of your processor and motherboard two gigs might be useless.

DDR1 is like 10 year old technology.

According to a quick amazon.com, there are no 2GB DDR1 sticks for sale. IT's quite a bit more expensive, but you might want to get a more recent motherboard. PLease not that you'll need a new CPU too then (probably).

Dam guess my pc is outdated then, I think Iv had it for 5 or 6 years now.
