Source.....?

As far as the "cigars vs. cigarettes" debate goes, let this be known; the great psychologist Sigmund Freud supposedly smoked 20 cigars a day, and died from cancer of the jaw at age 83. A pretty ripe old age for the 1930's, don't you think?

Which makes a good argument against legalizing Marijuana.

Once its legal, companies will be able to smother the marijuana with chemicals to make it even MORE addicting. It happened to cigarettes, and it will happen to marijuana.

Legalization of Marijuana, once it becomes legal and commercialized, it will be another way for Americans to die slowly of of addiction caused by additives to make it sell more money. You can be sure businesses will take advantage of it and make it addicting to get more money.

Well drug dealers already smother marijuana in chemicals and other drugs. Besides if marijuana was legalized it would probably be illegal to put other stuff in it because as the government sees it its bad enough as it is. But none of that matters because marijuana will NEVER be legalized in the US its just not going to happen and debates on messege boards arnt going to change that. But anyway yeah the chemicals cigarette companies put in their cigarettes are gross but as long as you roll your own you can avoid all that shit.

ok. my grandma is 85 years old. she has been smoking for almost 70 years. the doctor said her lungs are pure black. also, he said that if she tried to quit, merely the shock would kill her.

here's another story. my friend knows this old man that she calls "emphysema boy." he lives in the apartment above her, and she always sees him struggling to just walk up and down the stairs. she also sees him outside the apartment building, with an oxygen mask in one hand, and a cigarette in the other. he takes a puff of the cigarette, than breathes some oxygen.

don't smoke boys and girls. it's not cool and it kills!

The real problem is, when you get addicted to them. Theres almost no way of stopping, you will be independant (sp?) of smoking. And when you try to stop, its like living without food or something similar.

To be honest, Smoking is bad for you, it does cause cancer,. execpt in certain cases, like my grandfather. Although his lungs are wierd, and he's a genetic quirk. But the thing people don't also know is that living by a major road can have simmilar effect on your heath. In my home town of Glasgow (scotland) my grandmother (different one) live by a road that has many hundreds of thousands of cars pass her house every day, the docs say that she has had the effect of smoking two a day for 9 years. Now that's what I'm worried about, I mean if that's in a relativley small city by international standards then imagine what it's like in LA or New York??
