The thing is, we've also got all of that on the internet. News? BBC.com! Research? Google that shit! I mean, if it weren't for the internet, I migh not be learning music - I don't even take it in school and my research on it is completely voluntary, and teachers cost quite a lot. The option I take? Self-teaching online. There may be books out there to learn, but why pick that up when you could bring up a we page for free? And the argument against internet validity, do you think that everything you get fed in school and through other sources of media won't have its own level of reliability? Heck, when I talk to people I like to take a look at what they say, observe their wording, see their responses to everything I say, because while I do find what people talk about interesting, it's also another learning experience hearing another persons' point of view to me, even if they are halfway across the world - a person is a person.
As for mobile phones, they are convenient. Though, I would laugh if phones suddenly gone back in time to phones which had no colour screen, and only had texting, phoning and monophonic ringtones. The mad features we have now on them are... well... over the top.
But the thing is, the argument that people should "get out, read a book" and all that... we have all the information we need on the internet, right at our fingertips, and while it may be lazy to just use Google and find it, doesn't it just make sense to go the cheapest, easiest way?
And I'd like to be truthful about this: If it wasn't for the internet bringing millions of people on, I'd still be another social outcast unless I followed all of these "Kanye West" fans who wear tracksuit bottoms, walking around with their hands down their pants.
Apart from all that, I would like to go out there and get lost in the middle of who ever the fuck knows just for fun. While I do use the internet in the vast majority of my time, if my city had a countryside larger than a small block of houses, then I'd probably get out and experience what it's like sleeping in some place where you're not sheltered as much as in your house, feeling the nice breeze of fresh air... and all that shit, I've rambled enough! :3
