I was listening to a lot of the audio portal stuff and noticed the many different types of drum sounds each submission has. I have been using FL3 for the past....forever, but I want something that sounds like the real deal acoustic drumset. What are some good high quality drum programs right now? I'm very interested.

Here's a nice little EQ list, it's just a guidline (mess around with what you thinks good), but remember your hi-cuts and low-cuts.

I second that...
The new SDX Metal Foundry sounds nice... But 130 euros... again... ouch.

Did you just say FRUITY LOOPS 3?!?
SERIOUSLY?!! LOL.
Simple solution to your situation, just download a sample pack for drums.

What can I say...I'm old school. lol. I actually just updated to version 9 of Fruity Loops. HUGE difference. lol. And that Superior 2.0 software....is it just a punch of pre-recorded drum tracks? That's the impression I got from the site and advertisement. If I can individually paint my own tracks, that would be sweet.

Um... it's about 30GB of different drumsets SAMPLED. You can program anything you want with em. All my songs (well the newer ones) were made with SD2.0.
You have multiple samlpes for velocities, so you never get the 'machine gun' effect. Unless you want it, of course. You can edit it to hell, mix, EQ, whatever. All built in. Pre-made midi grooves are also included, just in case you cannot program drums.
