I've been a Marine for a year now and I thought it was about time I got a motivated Eagle Globe and Anchor tattoo to honor my Corps and Country. I had gone in to a Japanese tattoo parlor (I currently am stationed in Japan...) and made my own tattoo design for them to draw. A week later I went in for the design check and got the tattoo the same day, and here it is!
The Eagle represents service to the United states, the Globe symbolizes worldwide readiness, and the Anchor is in honor to our naval traditions.

That's pretty rad. Was it the marines that are having a sort of lock-in for tattoos in certain regions? Was this done because of that?
I really like it, I love the tattoos of the marines, I think they generally look pretty badass. Seeing this makes me want to get some more tattoo work done.

Pretty badass. Where in Japan are you stationed? Do you speak the language?

Because sign up year is so important.
Anyway, I could make a sardonic comment on what symbolism I see in that tattoo, but I'm not in the mood for fighting. I do admit that it's pretty well done.

Looks a bit dark, but that's probably due to the low lighting. Overal I'd say it looks nice, but since you have light skin, I think it would have looked just a little better if you had gotten it done with colored ink.

Will totally fade within the next couple months though. Happened to a friend of mine who's about to go back to get it darkened again, hah

Looks nice I suppose but personally I would've waited till I was a bit saltier. I mean, if I was going to get a tattoo of my university logo for example, I certainly wouldn't get it during my freshman or junior year.

I was actually going to get it done in color, but on a lot of my other tattooed friends with older pieces I've noticed that the color loses it's brilliance and becomes rather drab, but on pasty white guys such as myself, the black ink (even after it fades) still has quite a bit of contrast with the skin :D

Yeah, feels like I hit the gym and targeted just my left shoulder =/ Anyways, I'm using vitamin A & D with cocoa butter ointment that seems to help. Same stuff I used on my other 2 tattoos

Actually, you're right. My left shoulder is where I had gotten my smallpox and anthrax vaccinations which took a month to heal and left an unsightly scar on my shoulder. With this tattoo, you can't even see it :)
