Heya guys! Do you remember what is "634-5789"? It's Ed's Love Exchange, from blues brothers 2000. If you haven't watched the movie, go watch it now. Anyway, the clip from the film can be found here - Ed's Love Exchange

So anyway, I want to do a cover of this song (awesome - I know), and I need other people to do other instruments. I don't care if you play for real, or your using a DAW, as long as you are in the blues.

This is what I got so far -
Rhythm guitars - Me
Solo guitar 1 - Me
Solo guitar 2 - OPEN!
Bass guitar - OPEN!
Singing 1 - Me
Singing 2 - OPEN!
Drums - OPEN!
Trumpet - OPEN!
Effects (electronic only, very small part) - OPEN!

So, if you can play, sing, or do these in the computer, apply below. If you'll want a solo, we'll give you one. No problem.

Now, instead of the operators singing "6345789", we all do it together - all the instruments. Seems pretty awesome to me, and you'll still hear the numbers, since the me and the other singer will do it as well.

Join now! If you have any questions, you can ask them here!

Finally I convince you to get up on at least one of my collabs, huh? The last one wasn't good enough for ya XD

Aight, seeing that 2 guitarists were the first to answer, I decided to have 5 guitar spots, and to have a 2 minute or so guitar-off. Me, Loan, and Kor-Rune are the first 3. Who wants to be 4 & 5?

P.S. - Kor-Rune, just checked out your stuff for the first time. You're a great guitarist, and a very interesting composer and musician. You have loads of uploads to the site, so it'll take a while, but I'll listen to most of it, promise!

it's worth noting I'd probably be more interested in takin the bass, since I tend to rapidly get frustrated with guitar, bein that I kinda suck.

Sounds like fun, I could do some guitars.

I have pretty crazy equipment, I can do a lot of tones (Boss GT-10) and I have a Fretless guitar(not that good at that atm) my main guitar has a sustainiac, and I've ordered a 7-string 36-fret, which should arrive soon-ish.

I can also do normal stuff, of course. XD

Don't let this rub this the wrong way, but I'd actually prefer it if you do bass work. Finding a bassist that plays an actual bass will take a much longer time. Do you agree to be the Bassist for the group?

BOSS GT-10? OMFG! That's my favrorite multi-effect, like, ever!!! I'm so jealous. How much did it cost you?

and I have a Fretless guitar(not that good at that atm)

Fretless guitar? That's heavily awesome. Never saw or touched one.

my main guitar has a sustainiac,

Cool and fun guitar.

and I've ordered a 7-string 36-fret, which should arrive soon-ish.

Frigging amazing. 7-string 36-fret , equals 252 places to put your fingers in. Can you handle it? Lawl. Very awesome mate.

I can also do normal stuff, of course. XD

XD Blues ain't normal, it's just not insane. It's good music, which needs to tell a story. That's it.

Well, you should ear that out more carefully. There is also :
Piano
Hammond organ
There is a quite big brass section (trombone, tenor sax, alto sax and trumpet, maybe two) not just trumpet.
There are also the backing voices (female choir in the beginning and male choir in the middle making "haum").

Depending of my free time I might try to make some keys (piano and Hammond) and if there are no sax & trombone players I can fake a brass section (DSK Saxophones VSTi, DVS saxophone VSTi, real trumpet and a trumpet pitched one octave down as trombone).

I can sing blues and enjoy doing so. Thanks for the review. I am going to rerecord it some day. It was just something I did real quick one day and never got a chance to revist. Anyway... if you need extra pipes let me know. I would enjoy jumping in.

Actually not that much, I got it 30% off.

Fretless guitar? That's heavily awesome. Never saw or touched one.

I just took my first guitar, a relatively cheap Washburn and basically ripped the frets out:P
It's a lot of fun to play with, but you have to be precise, otherwise it sounds horrible.

Frigging amazing. 7-string 36-fret , equals 252 places to put your fingers in. Can you handle it? Lawl. Very awesome mate.

I don't know if I can handle it, I don't have it yet. Shipping to Switzerland takes long and is expensive, in this case over 20% of the guitar's price. lol.

XD Blues ain't normal, it's just not insane. It's good music, which needs to tell a story. That's it.

Yeah, I know, I play a lot of blues. You want me to record a little demo, or am I in anyway?

There is a quite big brass section (trombone, tenor sax, alto sax and trumpet, maybe two) not just trumpet.

Good point.

There are also the backing voices (female choir in the beginning and male choir in the middle making "haum").

I'm gonna do the Haum, probably. Myself. And the female choir doing the "6345789" isn't included in this one, it's replaced by the instruments.

Depending of my free time I might try to make some keys (piano and Hammond) and if there are no sax & trombone players I can fake a brass section (DSK Saxophones VSTi, DVS saxophone VSTi, real trumpet and a trumpet pitched one octave down as trombone).

I would love it if you'll do trumpet. If you can do keys as well, that would be awesome, but I'm looking for you as brass.

So you're on lead guitar. Very cool. I'm glad that you're in - listened to a little more of your stuff, and you're an spiffy guitarist.

This sounds like a lot of fun, and I can finally experiment with my blues tones and that stuff, yay!

YAY :-D

Lucky basterd. My pedal, which I am the current 5th owner of, cost me 10% more then the store price now. :/

Fretless guitar? That's heavily awesome. Never saw or touched one.
I just took my first guitar, a relatively cheap Washburn and basically ripped the frets out:P
It's a lot of fun to play with, but you have to be precise, otherwise it sounds horrible.

Well, obviously, but I bet it's a very good practice for you. And also, I bet it sound very unique (and looks like a damn heart-breaker, too).

Frigging amazing. 7-string 36-fret , equals 252 places to put your fingers in. Can you handle it? Lawl. Very awesome mate.
I don't know if I can handle it, I don't have it yet. Shipping to Switzerland takes long and is expensive, in this case over 20% of the guitar's price. lol.

Ew. Being in a no-good-guitars country is farmiliar to me - sure, there are good guitars, but only the major companies are importing to here. So...

XD Blues ain't normal, it's just not insane. It's good music, which needs to tell a story. That's it.
Yeah, I know, I play a lot of blues. You want me to record a little demo, or am I in anyway?

You're in, just becuase you ripped the frets off your guitar to make it a fretless XD

So, this is what's going on, part-wise -
Rhythm guitars - Me
Solo guitar 1 - Me
Solo guitar 2 - Kor-Rune
Solo guitar 3 - Zhurial
Solo guitar 4 - OPEN!
Solo guitar 5 - OPEN!
Bass guitar - loansindi (?)
Singing 1 - Me
Singing 2 - ForNoReason
Drums - OPEN!
Brass - Sorohanro (?)
Keys and Hammond - Sorohanro (?)
Electronics (effects, EQing, mixing) - OPEN!

No drummer? Let there be drums, people! Let there be drums!

Just wondering, When do you plan to have all music submitted by? I'm interested in guitaring but I'd like to make sure I have the time before committing. You can see examples of me playing here (hard rock) and here (melodic hard rock) It would be fun to put some more blues down!

As soon as all the slots are filled I'm going to start it. It will go in three levels -
Rhythm guitar, bass guitar and keyboards will be first. Then, we add the singing and guitar solos. Finally, brass and effects.

I'm interested in guitaring but I'd like to make sure I have the time before committing.

You should have it ready in a week or two after we told you about it - no pressure!

That's just pure awesome. I liked the "Rose of Sharyn" cover the most. Subscribed!
