Need suggestions for new guitar.

I'm planning on buying a new guitar. My price limit is $300, but I might be able to go to $350. I'd like a solid body electric. I will go and play a few at the guitar store, but i can't just go and play a million guitars. I'd like to narrow it down first. I've looked at Schecters, Ibanezes, etc. I just can't choose, because i've never had an electric, and all the reviews aren't very helpful.
No Epiphones.
I've been playing for almost 2 years.
I'd like a strat-type body, no V's or X's.
I play rock, punk, and some alternative metal.(I don't care what you have to say about my tastes)

Get a Schecter C-1 Classic. They're really nice tone wise and fretboard isn't too thin or thick and it the body is really comfortable for playing while sitting.

Reading your paragraph, you seem to be about the player I was before I bought this awesome axe, and I would totally recommend it. Everything on it is perfect. The pickups are beast, the finishes are amazing, it's fast and easy to play, it's cheap, and it stays in tune nicely too.

Get a Washburn. my first guitar was a washburn, and it was perfect for the style you are trying to play. pretty much anything with ernie ball power slinky strings and double pickups will be good tho. as long as you have a good amp, chords and effects, that is

Im assuming you want an electric. uhh, the bronze series warlock is a good semi cheap guitar.

as for acoustics, I had a cheap Alvarez [ 200-300 bucks, cant remember ] and that was actually a good sounding, playable guitar.

of course,my recomendation for guitars is always Gibson, especially acoustics but....only old ones, gibson was bought out by, i dont remember, ibenez? some other thing, theyre not gibsons anymore

Deans are good guitar makers, if you would have been open to buying something more exotic in shape, I would have suggested the Razorback or the Dean ML, two goddamn good guitars.

Don't go with Ibanez; they really aren't all they're cracked up to be. Personally, I'd go with a Strat because of their bluesy sounds. But since you want to play harder stuff, here's a guitar I found online that just hits the $350 mark, and has some features that allow you to play the music that you want to.

I'm guessing you already have an amp, but you can probably find a good amp online for under $100 if you need to.
