We all know some of the so-called "classic" games. Each and every one of us here has, at some point, played Pac-Man (I hope) or at least heard of it. Same with Donkey Kong, Pong, at least one version of Street Fighter II, and a whole mess of others. It's something that most gamers do, part of joining the culture or whatever. Each of us also knows a slew of bad games: the CD-i Mario and Zelda games, ET for Atari 2600, Superman 64, among others. Maybe you've played some of them, and if you have I feel your pain.
But what about those games of the past, good in their own time and fun even today, that everyone seems to have forgotten? I didn't hear about Burger Time until this month, I would have never even known Galaga if it weren't for the Galaga/Ms. Pac-Man. combination machines, Zero Wing is pretty fun if somewhat generic but nobody would have ever heard of it if the Sega Genesis translations weren't hilariously bad. And there's almost certainly others, most of which we have no idea of.
So this is for those games which are gone, forgotten, but still a Hell of a lot of fun. There's only so many classics released each year, and nobody would buy games or systems if the rest were bad. These are the vital laborers of the game world, the games which hold it up between the releases that everyone remembers for 20 years.
