I do it sometimes. I've gotten pretty bad with my phone, I'll admit. I used to turn it off when school started. Now I'm making sure the teacher isn't looking when I text. I don't do it all the time, and I'm a straight A-B student who never copies or cheats. I guess I think texting a certain someone is important enough to do during school, I don't know. I hate kids that constantly do it though all the time. Some days I leave my phone at home just to make sure I don't text.

I don't mind people texting in class. But when they fail an exam and then blame it on the teacher for "not teaching them properly," I laugh.

Glad I'm in college.

I often go on my phone's MSN and talk to friends about my lessons mid-lesson. It may seem a bit ignorant, but while I listen, I sorta talk about it with them, and I find that it actually improves my learning because the guidance of another person actually makes the experience more... fun.

It's not that annoying, pretty common at my high school so I'm used to it.

See, guys and the female race are different, most guys dnt really mind, all gurls who have that service,(especially milky color,) crave their text messages, try to call one and they'll get all pissy and text you fancy WTF's! and try to act like their screaming with their capital letters and ultro slang

It's never bothered me before. I usually don't notice, but when I do, it's like "Meh".

I text in class, but fucking no where NEAR as fast as 5 seconds. If I get a text, I don't constantly check my cell every second.

Texting in class doesn't piss me off as much as friends texting people when they come to YOUR house.

Texting never bothered me, especially not in situations where I don't have to give a shit about present company, such as in class. But, if I'm hanging out with someone and they're not talking much and keeping an active conversation with someone via text, it can be annoying. Mostly because it's typically someone I don't know so well in the first place, people I know and respect typically don't do that sort of thing.

hahah girls do that all the time at my school...they look down and try to hide the phone under the desk, or their book or pretend to look in their bags lol...i even seen this one girl text with the phone behind her back :O and yet i find it funny how they get mad at the teacher for taking away their phones...

I hate texting with a passion. I hate cellphones with a passion. I only have one because my mom got a deal for more than 1 phone. But seriously, if your gonna talk, dial a couple of numbers and talk to the fucking person. You don't need to waste money on useless texts when calling gets you the same result, except you might actually save money. Thank god they are banned texting while driving (which should have been done as soon as texting became a feature in phones.)

I don't have one either. I find them annoying on several levels. How the hell did cell phones become something "everyone" thinks they need to have anyways?

I just carry a calling card in my wallet so in emergencies I can use a payphone. All other calls can wait until I'm home to check messages.

Fuck no. If I get a text message in mid-class, I fucking wait to message back after class.

I have taught a class before, and i know how annoying it can be. (I don't mind the occasional, "can i check the time?") but if i see someone texting i just revoke the phone and hold onto it. Also Don't let your cell phone ring in his class you will learn the hard way.

I taught as a student teaching asistant before, and trust me you admire their work after doing it yourself.
