I got a message from a guy/manager/whatever who works with my towns news paper, and he said that the staff and himself love my witty yet tasteful comments on their facebook page, and he asked me if I wanted to be an intern.. Also they have been printing out photoshoops I have made and have been hanging them up in their office, so that's pretty cool.

Not sure if I want to do it, I wouldn't get payed and I already have a job, but the internship could escalate into a well paying job, I'm only 16 so this is pretty cool..

What do you think, should I do it?

pretty cool

If you're interested in journalism, you might aswell get an early start.

Unless you want a degree first or something.

Go for it, but if it looks like a dead end job, leave.
You don't want to get stuck with a job where you can't better yourself.

The thing is, I have never really thought about it, it would be pretty neat to do, but I always thought I would end up doing graphic design.

I'm not an intern, never was. Why don't you ask some of these questions to an intern.

i heard that if you're an intern in the US, you have to either suck Bill Clintons dick, or sleep with David Letterman.

Employers love internships, especially non-paying ones. It shows that you are willing to sacrifice pay in order to get experience in the field.

Plus you never know what kind of connections you will make while there, and how they might help you out later in life. Newspapers have a ton of fingers in a lot of important pies.

So I would definitely do it, if nothing more than resume-padding.

I figure this kind of a rare opportunity, so why not just run with it?

Kinda legit.

What do you think, should I do it?

What is your current job and how much does it pay compared to the higher?
Do the people at your current job like you as much as the people who want you to be an intern?
How much will not having a job affect you?
Will you enjoy working for whatever your interning for?
Do you like your current job?
What will you be doing at the place you might intern at?
Which is more convenient? (easier) (closer to where you live)
Hours?
What are the employees and staff, bosses, etc like?

Bored? | I made a bunch of those.

Janitor/bag boy at Kroger... Minimum wage, $8.00 an hour.

Do the people at your current job like you as much as the people who want you to be an intern?

Nope.

How much will not having a job affect you?

Not a whole lot, but having extra money is nice.

Will you enjoy working for whatever your interning for?

I would imagine so.

Do you like your current job?

Nope

What will you be doing at the place you might intern at?

Not really sure...

Which is more convenient? (easier) (closer to where you live)

They're both about the same distance.

Hours?

I work usually 12 to 20 hours a week at my current job.

What are the employees and staff, bosses, etc like?

At Kroger they are alright, not sure about the newspaper thing.

Well, from the looks of it, go with the internship. Bosses love that.

But before deciding, find out exactly what you are doing at the place you might intern at, pay, difficulty, hours, what the people are like, how this can help you in the future/what you can learn and whether or not you want to pursue future jobs in the same line of work, or something different. And if possible, see when you can expect to be paid.

After that, it is really up to you. Hope I didn't forget anything!
