well, last Monday, i sent my xbox 360 in for repairs (God damned red rings!) but anyway, it managed to get to the repair shop on Tuesday (Surprising me a lot), and the repairs where finished on monday. i just got it back now, and not only did it come back repaired, but it came with a free month of xbl gold! (Yay, more multiplayer, for free!) and a three month warranty. overall, although i do wish i did not get the rrod in the first place, the time it took, and what they gave in compensation made me real happy, almost me wanting to get it again if im running low on xbox live gold, or need a warranty. so ya, just wanted to share that.

After 2 red rings I believe I was destined to buy a PS3... Less than 1% failure rate... Maybe a Wii. The world will never know.

Microsoft accidentally shipped someone else's already refurbished Xbox to you, so now that someone else is going to have to wait even longer to get a repaired Xbox back.

Are you sure? It's probably a tad higher than that...

I've had my Xbox 360 for 14-16 months. Still no RROD. I hardly play it anymore though. But for that first year, I gave it quite a beating in play time. I'm surprised no RROD. How long until the original warranty clocks out? I don't want to have to go digging through boxes.

And PS3 fanboys think RROD is such a big deal. What does Sony do for the YLOD? Nothing.

26%? Really? That's still a little high.

Sadly it's true, and I don't believe Sony fixes it either. Do they?

Too bad you're pulling those YLOD ratings out of your ass, I've seen one YLOD thread on this forum since the time I've been here ever, while I've seen countless RROD threads.

I doubt one third of the PS3 population gets YLOD. I'd say it's more like 3 percent.

I got mine back in between one and two weeks. I can't remember exactly how long it took, but that's not bad considering it got shipped off to Germany.

The month of free Xbox Live was rather appealing as well, although I suppose it's only fair that they give that out.

And watch as you power it on, it will still have the RROD or it will get the RROD again in a few days. You cant rely on microsoft for shit.

Really? So having owned an Xbox 360 for 2-3 years now and only having the one problem with it is a bad thing? I'm assuming you on a PS3 based on that post, or just have a dislike for Microsoft. Either way, I'm not really fussed, but I feel it relevant to compare this with the number of PS2s I went through. I owned 5 at least. I've has my PS3 for almost a year now and it's still had no issues, but then again it's a piece of technology. It's sure to have a problem at some point.

My 1988 Atari 520ST has to be my most durable piece of technology. Still works like new, I think (it is older than myself, so I can't be 100% sure on that one).

Yeah, lucky that something that wasn't supposed to malfunction in the first place was fixed with due speed.

Beh, i just strongly dislike microsoft. There products or horribly over priced, they want to charge you and carry on a monthly subscription for almost anything, im not supprised they have a history with the better business. But we all keep crawling back for more. Plus, i still choose xbox over anything, but MS does shit to support it unless they get there $$$'s worth.

What a glowing review. Do you work for Microsoft? Companies shouldn't be praised for doing something in the manner they should. Fuck 'em, why couldn't they get off their asses and do it any faster than a week? Why only give you a free month of live? Why such a shitty warranty on something that's as likely to break down as the console it's replacing?

And RROD has a 75% chance of happening on old model 360's. See? I can make up numbers too.

It has been proven that the PS3 has about a 5% failure rate, while the 360 has about 25%. The Wii is something like 3%, I don't remember exactly. I don't know where you got your stats, but I thought my numbers I posted here were the accepted ones.

Where the hell did you get those numbers from?
