Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! That is truly beautiful news. You know, the longer you take with the Writing Portal, the more stories I write. When it comes out, I'll have A LOT of material to share. And then I might dabble a bit in film scripts. I've been studying scriptwriting at uni for about a month now, and although I've just written a radio play for the assignment, the structure is very similar, so, you know, proper scripts, as opposed to stories should help animators out a great deal. Any animators out there, if you're ever looking for a story to work from, I'm usually keen on collaborating and coming up with a good interesting plot.

As for a writing forum, that'd be just fantastic. I know I'll have a lot of things to talk about that seem out of place in general, as the subject material often skips right over the majority of users. Any idea as to when we'll be seeing this Writing forum on the BBS?

Also now that there is the Halloween feature of movies/game in the games of the week spot do you have any plans to make an award for that, like art has the front page trophy?

My musician quit, but me and my programmer agreed were still going to do the game, but i don't think we can submit it as a Power of 3 submission.

I'm half-aware of the thing you've got going, and I'm honestly extremely psyched about that. What frustrates me the most is that I can't come up with anything that I believe may be interesting enough to be considered, but I'm happy anyway since it may inspire more attempts in the future in getting writers together to make a marketable product. Following on from another WB point, I too think a writing forum would be great for handling scripts that a Flash animator may be able to work with. I'm talking properly formatted scripts, with as little prose as possible, like the professionals do it. I just spat in your face a few times, sorry. Anyway, yeah, lots of people would need a helping hand with that, myself included, so erm, yeah, forums are great for that.

That is awesome news about the writing portal. Finally I'll be able to submit at least something to the site!

In all honesty, with the calibre of games coming out for Po3, I think it's going pretty well and if there's more around the corner, then keep them coming. I'm keeping a close eye on HappyHarry's entry.

I am content with a Writers Forum. I might use that now that my English Comp Professor helped me regain some confidence with writing.

You will increase the number of characters per post for the Writers forum correct? Just for those really long-winded stories.

I have to say the more I think of Alphas the more I like it as a motivational tool. Ideally, it would be awesome to have Versioning/Publishing set of pages that accommodated initial script ideas, followed by story boards, that then moved in to working swfs and artwork and then had pages for recruiting voice actors and having them submit their audio and then a publish final project to portal button.

But that sounds like an extremely far reaching goal, and if Newgrounds ever went that route, I'd love to see the API more functional and perhaps tied into a server app to enhance multi player games on top of everything else.

Glad to hear that!

The forums have been missing something since users haven't been able to post stories on an individual basis. And while some of that stuff was better gone from general, it meant the gems had to go too. :(

I've wanted a place for a while where writers could come specifically on this site to discuss different subjects in a forum setting instead of in a single thread.

I really like the changing thing on the frontpage.

I like seeing new content instead of the same old all week.
In fact, if it rotated around 8 and was periodically changed, I wouldn't mind that being permanent. :)
