Next week will return to the Game of the Week, which brings me to the elephant in the room; YES, there are still amazing Power of Three games in the works! For those just joining us, Power of Three was a summer event where artists, programmers and musicians joined forces to make the most epic line-up of Flash games EVER. A lot of Po3 teams never got their ideas off the ground, while others are still trudging forward.

I regret we have yet to relaunch Alphas as a promotional tool for Po3 projects but Alphas are still on the way and games in progress should have a chance to use them this year.

Leaving no stone unturned, we're planning an even crazier event around the production of movies. It will combine writers, artists, animators, musicians and voice actors in a structured competition that spans several phases. It's something I've been keeping tucked away in anticipation of a Writing Portal, but for now we might just have to settle for opening a Writing Forum, much like how the Art Forum prepared for the Art Portal. More on that in the coming weeks, we still have our massive summer/fall project to complete.

when will the writing forum be out and when will we be able to add medals to games and one last thing, can I know more about this new power of 5 event thing? oh wait this is the real last one, when will alphas be open again? (the following is only so I can post this)

Hey Tom this is sort of weird but, I actually managed to get spam in my Newgrounds inbox for the very first time since I've ever been here. So maybe its extremely rare or unheard of yet, just wanted to give you the heads up. I have had an account with you guys since about 2003 (not this one though) and never once have I gotten spam before. It was some sort of friendship offer but it was obviously fake and I got it twice reading the exact same thing at completely different times. Hey, I know spam alright? lol But yah, so that's my heads up. Good luck!

A writing portal?!?!

I LOVE WRITING STORIES!

Cool, can't wait for the upcoming PO3 games, especially Krinkels, I personally hope it's Madness Interactive 2, since it has the same programmer.

But I just can't help feeling the game of the week spot was taken by Haloween flashes due to lack of major game releases this Wednesday.

Power of Three was a super idea, I spent so much time playing those games. Can't wait for more!

Man alot of great stuff going on. I would LOVE a writing portal/forum. There is a little 5 minute gem i wrote a year ago that id love to post, maybe even have turned into a flash short. As it would cost some cash to shoot it live action.

And such a contest would give a great studio-esq feel to newgrounds. Having artists specialized in different crafts coming together to make great productions. Awesome stuff

I think it's been a really good thing [po3], even though there hasn't been many games come out of it and that alot of them have fallen through, I actually met a music guy who I not only get along with really well but we've started a band and he makes music for games I'm involved with. So it's been a really productive thing whichever way you look at it! For me anyways :P...

The writing portion you mentioned intrigues me. I can't wait to hear more about it! I've been wanting to try voice acting for a while, so this could be the chance to get into it.

I really like how Newgrounds is becoming a center for all kinds of media now. Great direction!
