From what I've been reading the failure rates are of 2009

PS3 0.2%
Wii Less than 1% or much higher... Nintendo has never released failure rates for the wii so its unknown
Xbox 360 54.2% Ridiculous

I feel as if I would have saved 200$ by buying a PS3 at this point having gone through 2 360's.

Your failure rates are nearly 3 years old.

Yeah, launch Xbox 360s were rushed in order to get them out in time with the other consoles, they're built much sturdier now.

I think the failure rate is less than 5% now (mines an '06er, had one laser problem and one RROD).

However, the PS3 has the least failure rate, but is still coming last in the console race.

PS3 fail rates is slowly going up. My friend's PS3 suffered from the YLOD. Go figure.

Your friend falls in the less than 1% of ps3 owners. I did some 2009 readings and 360 failure rate is 34% the 52% one was a long time ago. But i still wonder which one fails more a PS3 or a Wii both of them are long lasting it seems.

its bullshit. my friend went through NINE " sturdy " 360's and he takes perfect care of his shit, they may have improved the rate but not as much as people want it to be

Because obviously, if a machine is broken, it's defiantly not the owners fault.

well, i got the rrod, and within a week and a half)Including thee time it took to ship it to and from) i got it back, and got a free month of xbox live gold membership, and a three month warranty. i do admit the high failiure rates are a problem, but atlesat microsoft compensates you for your troubles, not to mention repairs you xbox for free if you get the rrod

If you fail at failing, doesn't make you win at winning?

My 360 died 3 times, I've had my PS3 for 2 years with no problems, and I've never experienced any problems with my wii.

More like 3 months. I saw an article that'd back up this information in a GameInformer from a few months ago.

I code in AS2, in case I forgot to mention it.

Um, no. 360s were released a full year before the PS3 and Wii. They were trying to sucker in the people deciding on 360 or PS3, who then decided on getting the 360 now, and PS3 next year. When they saw the price tag of the PS3, they decided against it.

It was a psychological marketing technique, but it didn't have to be a FULL year early.
