NEIL PEART IS NOT THAT GREAT.

"Hey guys, look at me with my paradiddles and blast beats! Also, check out my bell tree and shit ton of cowbells! Oh, what's that? You can't see me behind MY FUCKING HUGE SET? Oh? Play at something over 240 BPM on more than 3 drums? Sorry, no can do!"

I have great respect for Rush, but I wish people would stop idolizing Neil.

John bonham by far.

Bonham is described by the Encyclopaedia Britannica as "the perfect model for all hard rock drummers that have followed him".

Well, I've got news for you pal, you ain't leadin' but two things right now: Jack and shit... and Jack left town.

I gotta few ideas, but most are best in specific areas.

Speed & Best metal drummer: Derek Roddy.
I swear his feet must set the double bass on fire...

Tricks: Assaf Seewi.
You gotta love it when he juggles the sticks at 2:20.

Best Overall: Neil Pert.
Amazing drummer, no argument.

Personal Favourite: Mike Portnoy - Part 1, Part 2.
The Instrumedley was the first song I ever heard by Dream Theatre, and blew my fucking mind.

There are probably people better than the ones I've mentioned, but these are the best I know. Feel free to show me better, I'd love to see them.

I don't really know much of what makes an epic drummer, but Dave Lombardo is pretty sweet.

example with Slayer
example with some other insane band

John Bonham.

You have to see some of his live stuff, but there isn't really alot to go on that really demonstrates why he's so great. Let me put it this way, at the end of one of their sets he had like a 16 minute drum solo once, and his drum set was pretty basic, not one of those OMFG I HAVE A MILLION DRUMS TWO KICKS 12 CRASHES AND A XYLOPHONE setup like Neil Peart.

For style, Ringo Starr. His drumming sounds weird and has a lot of character. Listen to this from about the 3:00 minute mark and you'll get what I'm talking about.

Pfft keith moon just hopped up on drugs and hit shit as hard as he could. Peart and Portnoy is where it's at.

Which drummer supreme? The beater that's the best? The guy who's so awesome, There is no other that could possibly match him?

For me, it's Neil Peart from Rush. Yeah. There's drum playing, and then there is Neil fucking Peart.

I would completely agree. It's funy though, I seen the title of the topic, and Thought to myself, Neil Pert.

Great and not so great user list!!!

I would agree with the Neil Peart mention. He paved another road for technicality, chops, and synchronization that no other drummer has matched yet. Other noteable drummers are Keith Moon, John Bonham, Brain, Chris Geer, Brann Dailor, and Romain Goulon, among others.

It's between Neil Peart and John Bonham in my opinion.

There is no such thing as someone who doesn't like the PS3, there is only poor people who can't afford one. PS3 owners pity you and hope you can one day get out of poverty.
