Before deciding who is the most famous person ever you have to clearly define how you are going to measure a person's fame. Simply having heard of the person isn't enough.

Google hits is one way, with fairly ambiguous results. Check it.

This is a compelling argument - without Metal pioneers like the aforementioned Iron Maiden, would we have had such a star in Jack Black? Probably not, as he would not have had his life changed by their music, met Kyle Gas and gone on to form Tenacious D, thus launching his career.
