I was thinking the exact same thing. You'd think that having it called "The Rape Tunnel" and all the talk about it would be warning enough. If you walked through the tunnel under your own power, knowing exactly what was going on I don't think it would exactly be rape. You would have basically given consent.

Did you read the article? His previous project had a lasting impact on an aspiring model's life; he punched her in the face and broke her nose. The point is that he is going for an extremely objectionable action in order to provoke people into dialog about his work. It's something your very outrage about the concept, in fact, plays into entirely. He wants his efforts to have a lasting impact on people and society. They may very well.
