Here in Atlantic Canada. we have 2 systems.
We have the metric system for driving speeds like 110kph for highways, or litres for buying gas & oil.
But we also have the standard system for buying 2x4's or 4x8 sheets of plywood ,from the lumber yard.
Grocery stores put their prices up in kilo's & usually there is a pound conversion mentioned as well.
We still have people who speak in miles an hour, inches of rain or snow...but they also say centimeters or millimeters for rain or snow...& that used to get confusing, now it just sort of automatically converts in my head & I know what is being refered to.
What I still find odd & a little confusing, is tape measures with both types of measurements on them, for me I perfer just one type of measurement & I pick it when I buy it, & its a standard tape measures, for construction I just find it easier.
