Windows 7, which is Microsoft's solution to the failier that was Vista, I don't have any trust in it yet.
Some people say that it is good, but they said that too with vista and look where it is now. Plus those people who said it was good were the lucky few that didn't have sucky ones. Or they were working for Microsoft.

Either way, Microsoft is a company that has so much money and no real competitors that a failer doesn't matter, people still buy their shit.

So I wont trust this Windows 7 till maybe 3 years from now.

I didn't trust vista at first, and I am glad I didn't because it failed. Maybe it didn't, maybe there was so much hype that it was bad that people believed it, but I wont take a thousand dollar chance on a computer, unless I can get a full refund on it with no hassle.

Well, I'm very proud of how much you've grown up these past few years!

Well XP still works.

Plus a computer costs over $1000 for a new one. It is over $1000 because you put in the other accessories in it to make it run better, and that is money I dont have at the moment.

Plus I don't want to pay for a computer that will cause me problems.

I bought my computer 4 years ago, paid 500$
New speakers - 25$
RAM - 45$

Total that up, you'll have about 430 bucks left to fuck with. Quit being such a thundercunt.

All I am saying is that, computers are expencive. Unless I know that it wont have much problems I wont get a new one.

Macs I have faith they wont fail, but they are way to expencive, and microsoft computers can do much more.

What of alienware? How are those computers?

Vista was good, sure it had problems, but it's far from as awful as people make out. Have you even used it? oh no, you haven't.

Windows 7 is awesome and well worth the upgrade.

i think you shouldn't just "trust" it wait for what people say about it, and only listen to the people that actually know about computers, not some average person.

When new operating systems come out, I never get them straight away because I know there's always a tonne of bugs and shit with them. It was the same with XP. When I was still using '98, everyone I knew upgraded to XP as soon as it came out, and within weeks they were getting their hard drives formatted and stuff, because XP was full of bugs. It's the same with Vista, and I have no reason to use Vista so I still use XP (now that XP is a lot more stable). With Windows 7 I'll just wait until all the usual shit is out of the way before I check it out.

It seems people find it easier to trust someone who says "Windows sucks!" with nothing but anecdotal evidence than someone is says "Windows rocks!" with solid evidence. Stupid people.

You know guys, I've tried Windows 98, 2000, 2003, XP, Vista, and 7 they each had their charms, but the best I've ever used is 98. It never crashed, froze, or got a virus that I couldn't get rid of in less than 10 minutes. It just sat there and took it. We can't just forget it. So, I suggest that we all go back to Windows 98. VIVA LA 98!

I'm missing the part where you have to buy a new computer to obtain a different operating system.

I can't stand vista.. But I don't feel like paying 80 dollars to get drivers installed for XP once again.
I don't see the point in letting cosmetics take over performance.. But is the vista 64 bit any better than the 32 bit? I'm looking into getting that OS on a new computer so im available for more ram.

Grammar am make good?

Some people say that it is good, but they said that too with vista and look where it is now. Plus those people who said it was good were the lucky few that didn't have sucky ones. Or they were working for Microsoft.

...what are you talking about. Every copy of Vista contains the exact same data. Have you ever heard an expression that says "The problem exists between the chair and keyboard"? Think about that expression.

Either way, Microsoft is a company that has so much money and no real competitors that a failer doesn't matter, people still buy their shit.

Microsoft has no competitors? Apple would beg to differ.

So I wont trust this Windows 7 till maybe 3 years from now.

When Windows 8 will be out. Seriously, what the fuck is going to be different about Windows 7 3 years from now. Some new service packs will be out but if you buy it now you'd be getting the same luxury.

I didn't trust vista at first, and I am glad I didn't because it failed. Maybe it didn't, maybe there was so much hype that it was bad that people believed it, but I wont take a thousand dollar chance on a computer, unless I can get a full refund on it with no hassle.

Facepalm.
The OS=/=The computer. You don't have to get a new computer to install Windows 7. Hardware is hardware is hardware. You could downgrade from Windows 7 to XP easily.

I had vista when it first came out and it froze all the time. I contacted Microsoft and they sent me a new one that worked. Maybe enough people had problems like me and it gave vista a bad rep.

1) Windows 7 runs better than Vista on the same hardware and maybe even better than XP in some situations...

2) Most Windows Vista crashes and complaints at the beginning of its release was because of faulty drivers which where created by the manufacturers and not Microsoft. The current drivers for Vista are fine and so are the current ones for Windows 7

3) XP is a decade old and is starting to become outdated. A lot of programs run slower on XP than Vista and Windows 7 and there are more vulnerabilities in XP than Vista and 7.

Do not base your decision on ignorance

Sorry but i have to fucking smack you for that...

Apple's macs have a 10% market penetration... PCs are 90%... The figures for OS are similar with Linux at 1-2ish...

I downloaded the Beta version to fix my Vista that was broken due to a bug in the genuine software validation and the fix was to totally nuke and pave.

Upgrading to windows 7 spared me from reinstalling all my software and fixed the genuine bug. God I hate windows.

The user account control was more like user annoyance, it broke peoples' computers, etc. etc.

Hell, Microsoft even admitted to its failure.

I code in AS2, in case I forgot to mention it.
