Seriously every time I tried to get rid of this thing, it always pops up. Bad enough that my computer has swine-flu, rendering it an ill girl but...even back when the computer was healthy, Norton would claim to find viruses when Webroot proves otherwise. Also Norton slows the computer down for some reason, it's like it's leeching the life from the computer itself.

Then last night I heard a song "Do You Remember The Time?" playing full blast right outside my house, I went to check who it is and it's Ed Norton holding a radio. I lock the doors and the windows before running up to my room and hide.

I noticed it's impossible to uninstall Norton if you are missing a single file of it. Before I got a new computer I tried it uninstall it so many times and always got an error saying not possible becuase i was missing some stupid file. And of course there's those random telling me everything I own is a virus pop ups.

I hate Norton if you hadn't noticed.

I've heard Norton is a bad security choice. IIRC, some viruses can take control of it, and stop it noticing other viruses. Plus, it takes a load of system resources to run, so I don't recommend it. There are better products that work just as well (and much better), for less. For example: AVG Free. It's free, as you might have guessed, and it's pretty much the standard for anti virus products.

I just got rid of my Norton a few days ago, and haven't seen a trace of it since. You just click on Uninstall, it should be in the same folder as the rest of the Norton stuff. Look in the All Programs menu in the Start menu.

Wikipedia is user contributed. Wikia is not owned or ran by the staff of wikipedia.

Wikia is operated by Wikia, Inc., headquartered in San Francisco, California and was founded by Jimmy Wales and Angela Beesley in 2004. Gil Penchina is the current CEO.

Nod 32 is quite great in my opinion, I've had it for years and have never had a single problem with my computer.

It installed itself with Shockwave, and slowed down my computer until I uninstalled it. Also, avast! is better than Webroot.

Norton was the first virus scanner and is not malware, it's just too bad it's nowhere near as good as it used to be but that could be partly due to it's popularity. The official site may provide some support.

I hated norton. Needless to say, I soon got rid of it and replaced it with spyhunter, only to replace THAT with McAfee.. I haven't had a virus since.

I can sleep safe at night.

I'll make you a sig. Pm me or visit this thread.

I use Avast as well, and to this day I've never had a major problem with it.

A little, a rogue security product is gone for a time being but have to use system recovery to open the window...

I find the idea of Ed Norton standing next to your computer, telling you that everything is a virus to be quite humorous.

I move him with my thumbs. He needs my guidance, though I am not the only one.

Norton Antivirus is and always will be the worst virus program, slowly leeching the life out of your computer sounds about right too. I remember having it and for some reason it always loaded when I started the computer which slowed it down something chronic.

All live detectors and firewalls load when your computer starts up. Norton just takes a shit load of resources while a lot of other security programs don't.

I'm pretty sure it's not run by the wikipedia staff, it just looks like a site that's using the wiki software to make a website.
