I need some beta testers. This synth contains 9 oscilators. 5 lfo's. 10 envelope generators. 5 fx slots. an equalizer. and a sleek interface. the oscilators are able to be edited and you can export the waveform from the editor as a .wav and use it in a sampler.

this synth is made to be used with fl studio and i did designs for it so it would blend right in with everything else. it looks almost like sytrus.
the breakthrough though about this synth is that, instead of using proccessing power to calculate sound from the vsti, it will use graphical power which is very much better. I have an Nvidia Geforce 9800GTX+ 512mb and I can handle 89 "ToneScythe" Vstis open at once, each playing a different sound. This is great for people who have a weak cpu, and have a decent gpu. This is going to go commercial and is expected to be released in 2010 in May. I need beta testers.

I can give a pretty accurate review fron a semi-VST-novice standpoint... can you guess why?

I'm down. I also have a background in programming and testing so I'd be a good candidate for serious bug testing.

What do you expect of us as beta testers? Make a complete report of every bug and also search for them if possible?
:P I want to try though. Seems intresting.

Well, as a beta tester, I would want you to find bugs, and suggest any improvements. Even if you wanted to beta test though, you would have to give me a month or two to get this into a beta stage. It is currently in alpha. I already have it programmed to calculate sound through the gpu. I just have to work on keeping it from crashing. Other than its all fine. Once I hit 104 vsti's fl studio crashes...Although I don't think anyone would really have 100+ vsti's ever open at once. lol.

There is a picture of it in FL Studio 9.
NOTE - The design is still a very work in progress.

There is a song made with ToneScythe. Absolutely 0 CPU usage in FL Studio.

Yeah man, i'd be up for a beta version.

Ive got a ati radeon 4850 in my comp - so a decent card, and i'm also in my 3rd year of an electrical engineering degree, aiming to specialise in digital signal processing and embedded systems (1 more year left). Ive got experience in java and c, and could probly pick up another programming language relatively easily - so yeah, lemme know if you want a hand developing too =)

Would you mind making a more representative screenshot of it? For example the oscillators or the the envelopes.
Also, could you elaborate on how it does that, using the GPU's processing power for non-graphical things?

I'd be up to test as well! I used to play around making vsts, so I'd probably do well as a tester.

Big fan of homebrew synths I might add.

Sounds very impressive...I remember such a graphic card-oriented convolution reverb being piloted at kvr.com at a point, but it required a specific card type (certain kind of Nvidia - never could get it to work)

I'd also like to test. Nvidia FX 5200 so it's a decent card but nothing new or crazy. I have put off getting a computer for a while so CPU usage is a huge concern for me.
