Not going to explain the details, but I think I have the right circumstances to apply for emancipation. I have a car, and access to money. A lot of money. I also invested a year ago and it turned out well. Is it really worth it to move out before 18?

Before 18? I think that's illegal. At 18 you're legally out of your parents custody.

He can emancipate himself, and be free of legal custody before 18.

However, if your situation at home is good OP, then I wouldn't leave. You never know what could happen.

I'm so confused, I lose arguments with myself.

you can apply for emancipation, meaning the community will recognize you as an adult and you'll have to pay for everything and do everything yourself, as an 18 year old.

You will enjoy the "freedom" for a while, but then you will regret it.

Unless your being raped by your mom every night, stay. Trust me. You will appreciate it in the long run.

I didn't move out until I was 22, and now I have my own big-ass house.

I think people underestimate how hard it is living on your own.
Sure, it'd be great having the freedom for a while but you'd start to realise your missing the little things like having dinner cooked for you.

Is your credit good? Also, you'll need a co-signer if you're renting out an apartment... usually people use their parents, but do you have someone that will co-sign for you?

i dont think so. I've known 16 year olds who have their own apartments. it's just not that easy.

You might say you have access to a lot of money, and I don't know how much you mean by "a lot", but I wouldn't recommend moving out unless you have a secure job of your own. Rent and bills and shit adds up really fast, and you don't want to spend all that money you've got and have no income.

No, implore you to wait. I've only been 17 for nearly 11 and a half hours now and I feel too comfortable here with my parents to be able to imagine anyone being able to settle on himself at this age already.

No. Why would you waste almost 3 years of living at home with your parents without paying ridiculous bills for apartments?

Wait till your 18. Besides most 16 year olds who leave are considered runaways and most apartments don't rent to anyone under 18. Even most hotels you have to be anywhere from 18 to 21 just to rent a room.

If I were tied up, would you ring my bell?

What's the rush. I'm still living with mine and I deal with them all the time. It's not my favorite thing in the world, but it sure beats asking them for money out of the house.

The economy and job-markets are so faulty right now that nothing is guaranteed to anyone. Even if you have a lot saved away and a great, high-paying job right now, you don't know where you will be in 3 months.

I would stay at home, even if it stinks - just so you can save up more of savings and wait out the finicky economy within the comfort of your parent's house.

Depend's on what state your in, but in almost any situation it's not a good idea.

"alot": Investments, what's in my bank account, + inheritance from a dead Aunt and Uncle: approximately $52k. A lot of that will go to college in a year or two. As for a job, I already have a part time job right now, and make decent money. I've done the math, money won't be a problem, and where I live, getting jobs as a teenager is quite easy. Apartments here are cheap, I don't need anything fancy anyway. The inheritance takes up about 40k of the money to my name, and I can't get to it as a minor. If emancipated, it's mine to do with as I please, but I wouldn't just go bat shit crazy with it, I'd save it for college.

I stayed at home till i was 20, not paying bills and making money for the last 6 years has bought me a house with a little help getting a short term loan from mom and dad, If your situation is good, stay at home and make money while you dont have massive bills to pay, hit the town running and be carful when buying / renting a place, dont rush into it,
