hey guys,

my dads boss has just had a website made for his forklift sales buisness and he wants his site to be the first to come up when somebody types forklifts or something like that. how can he get this to happen without paying?

There's very little chance of being able to do this for free. And certain search engine prioritise on different aspects. Google will look for the most referrals or links to a particular site. Big companies will use software or bots to boost the popularity of their site and therefore attempt to make it come up top in a google search.

You can do it very quickly by paying google to become a sponsor site. But the only way to do it for free would be to have thousands (if not millions) or referral links to your dad's business webpage.
