2) PSP 3000, the Go is a bit of a gimmick really, you might as well get the 3000 since it has a bigger and better screen and a UMD drive.

Wrong forum. I have the PSP Go, you really have to have it to understand it. It's great, portable as ever, and the games are like £5 cheaper than in a store. In 5 years time, everything will be download-only, no discs, no UMDs. Be prepared for the next 5 years with the PSP Go, so it saves you money. I recommend the Go, since you're a new PSP user.

I disagree , in five years we will most likely still be using discs , blu ray or better.
The download only transition is one that few people are ready for and there are still a lot of problems and
Issues that will take a while to solve , we will proabably get there in 10-20 years if ever

The 3000 is far more powerful, so therefore better for homebrew

Not true , the PSP go actually has a higher Processing power due to the in game XMB stuff , and there is no CFW for 3000 yet i dont think but it would be your best shot for it, without CFW i wouldnt have used my PSP past 6 months

I stand corrected, I never knew that! Thanks.

That's not true. And even if it did, it wouldn't be within 5 years.
PSP Go is a waste of money and Sony should be focusing on improving their products instead of redesigning them.
Also, this belongs here.
Get a 2000 or 3000. The Go is just an experiment. The games are as expensive as UMD games, even though you do not get the UMD, the plastic case, the instruction manual, none of that. And it has Wireless B internet. It is the slowest kind of wifi there is, and when you have to download many gigs of games in one run, you are fucked. Downloading a game takes about 20 percent of your battery life, and the batteries are not removable, so you cant just swap batteries on the run. If you download a 20MB game, it takes three hours. If you download something big, like GT PSP, it takes almost a day. No new games in the airport, for sure.

I meant to say that everything will be download-only for handheld consoles only, believe me - it will.

You can thank shitty PSN for that. People gloat that it's free, but you are getting what you pay for, crap.
