So I saw Paranormal Activity today because all I've been hearing about is how scary it is and shit, but it was really a let down. A lot of parts were creepy, like at night while they're sleeping and all the sounds and the door closing and all that shit. But nothing really made me jump. The only actual scary parts were when the girl got dragged out of the bed and the very end.

but another friend of mine saw it and said it wasn't alll scary but it had its parts

either way I'm not going to see it since scary movies aren't my thing

seriously why would I pay to get scared? I might as well go to six flags or something if I want to piss myself

I know that there are multiple threads about this movie, but I just want to take this opportunity to say how much I loved this movie.

I'm a big fan of paranormal investigations in general, so maybe I was predisposed to enjoying this movie - but I found it really frightening and unique in general.

It was a perfect combination of "jump out and scare you" frights and a suspenseful build-up of fear. Even though I somewhat knew what was coming at the end, it still made me jump out of my chair and yelp like a 13 year old girl.

Perhaps the theater atmosphere in which one sees the movie has something to do with it - I was in a sold-out movie theater, right up front, and surrounded by a ton of jittery people who were screaming at every little noise. I found it heightened the movie experience exponentially.

I personally recommend the film.

I can say that it was totally over-hyped. I'm not sure if maybe through my movie watching saga I have been calloused by horror or not, but it just didn't hit that note that other similar movies did such as The Blair Witch Project. (I don't care if it's fake, that shit was creepy.) But I suppose if you like paranormal activity in general, then it wouldn't be a terrible idea to see it.

The ACTUAL ending wasn't scary, it just used the "screamer" factor.

Going tomorrow afternoon with a friend who wants to see it, not sure how scared she'll be though. My girlfriend refuses to come though, she hates freaky movies. I was hoping for it to really be the scariest movie of all time, but such a title covers such a broad mix of horror movies. For some, slashers are the scariest, and for others, movies of shit like miscarriages or pokemon are scariest

Yeah, I saw the movie and it failed to make me even jump a little.

And it's pretty easy to make me jump, maybe not scare me but I jump alot in movies.

Paranormal Activity is that a movie or some shit? Ghosts are real. When I was eight my family and myself lived in a trailer house.. (poor white trash :D ) I was sleeping one night and I had woken up and at the time my bro and I slept in the same room.. Anyways I woke up and looked over at his bed and i was half asleep I seen him awake so i said to him "Chris what are you doing up?" and he didn't say anything I asked him again and nothing. I finally swatted at him and my hand went right through him. I went back to bed.. staring at the ceiling and finally fell asleep. A friend told me that cats can see that shit we had a cat (Same trailer house) that would hide in the middle of the night and attack anyone who went through the hallway. Another thing that happened in that trailer was my step-mom had a glass of milk that was sitting on the end table and the glass went flying at the wall. I was on the couch and witnessed it. Paranormal Activity being weird and unlikely very true.
