Mh..Still can't think of anything involving purple but I'll manage, maybe I'll make a draft of my "Lady Noir" in a bit.

I guess I'll start with 24 fps...I tried beginning on animating until I had just realized I was working with default 12. Lawl.

And Xionico, instead of thinking of what's purple, think of utilizing purple as abstract lighting. You're working with a lot of shadows, white, and the color of your choice. Light-sources could play off each other, having purple behind a character, and white in front could paint interesting frames...or visa-versa.

I think 30 fps keeps it smooth, 24 is the bare minimum for the illusion of motion.

Also who's doing the music? We need a hard-boiled-trumpet-heavy-50's-style soundtrack.

I suggest hitting up the Audio Portal. That's where I found the track that I'm going to use, and it would be helping out the Audio NG Users when we credit their songs alongside the submission information.

How's everybody doing? Where's everybody at?

I'm getting a few friends of mine to voice in my short, when it dawned on me that I had nothing in writing, so I got to work on a split script for every single frame in the animation; a little something I learned in Storyboarding.

One side details the Video, or what's seen, establishing what shot it is (I listed them in a previous post in this thread) the lighting, and the movements, actions. The other side of the script details the Sound portion, including dialogue and SFX.

I'm about eight frames in on what's likely to be a 40+ short. I'll keep you posted the more I developed.

I found the track that'll be used as background ambience from the Audio Portal, I recommend you do the same, and help out other users like us.

I have great ideas for sound effects, and I've thought of each that I need. High heels on wood, a silenced bullet shooting through flesh and embedding into the wooden seat, and the ejected cartridge, as well as an open/shut door, safety *click* on the gun, and appropriate texture noises like the soft rustle of clothing with body movement, and shit like that. I can record all of these, just some sooner than later.

Man i'm really gonna need some cool sfx, like a tommy gun, 50's style handguns, bullets against metal skin, skin ripping, blood gushing, and maybe some sexual moaning and bed rocking...

ALSO- as far as audio (@fatkid) I am not using voicing in mine...just a short original song composed by my good friend and voice actor (anyone may contact him if they need voices as well) LETOVOX

30's fine by me...this'll be the fastest I've ever animated; I'm interested in how it will turn out.

Here's a rough draft, just trying to get her design down. My major problem is every time I draw her face, it's inconsistent. I need to somehow make it simple enough where I can get it right every time.

The more I draw the female body, though, the better I become at getting the proportions right....this flash project is going to be challenging for me.

Back to the music issue, I'm planning on using tracks from newgrounds, but would having a song outside of newgrounds playing on the radio in the background be allowed. Something like Frank Sinatra's New York or something kinda old and jazzy? Only for a couple shots.

i'd say its ok if u wanna put a track in thats not from newgrounds. as long as it adds to your scene!

finished the lines for my part, are there any spanish dudes here, or at least could pronounce spanish well to voice for some of the lines? And maybe make corrections, i can't really speak spanish i just used a translator...

Actually, I'm sorry Denzel, but I really don't think I can do it...I feel bad for offering before thinking it out.

The stress from my mid-terms recently were vented out in my celebrations for Halloween, but it's only been added and multiplied into stress for Finals coming up. I had fooled myself into thinking I could balance both projects, but this shit is eating up my time and energy.

I'm going to have to remain focused on schoolwork...Blue is up for grabs, and I'm politely bowing out of the collaboration.

RedHarvest, didn't your buddy EagleStudio want to join? Get his ass back here so he has time to do something decent before the deadline.

I dunno if this would work for everyone but i saw it in a magazine years ago and it works for me... To draw bodies fast: Practice by not using the grids and cross markers but only use "C's". Just letter C's. Start at the spinalchord or groin area (or boobs if applicable) and continue the rest of the body using strokes that resemble the letter C and avoid doing erasures... Use a pen for better training, just lots of C's...

BTW, Are there any other spanish speaking dudes here?

Can I take Phobotech's spot? That is if it's still open.

And I would like to use brown if that's possible. I can do blue if I you need me to but I'd like to use brown because I want to make a sort of sequel to zappawadda's story (with his permission, of course). If I must do blue I would like Phobotech's permission to just animate the story he has already posted. And maybe with a few touches of my own.

Imagine that the male hero (wearing a brown trench coat and hat) recovers from his encounter with the Lady and hunts her down to set things right. And the ending of my part could be that he gets what he wants and the Lady is dead or in jail (which would make a great ending to the collab). Or she can escape again after killing him or knocking him out again--thus turning him into her archenemy if there is any more stories left to about the Lady.

You can choose the ending based on whether you want to make a sequel collab with the Lady or not. I think it'd be cool to do that and if I can't be in this collab I'd like to be in that one. The sequel collab doesn't even have to be the same characters. You just do another collab with the "black/white/one color" rule and the noir theme.

By the way, what color is zappawadda doing? I hope not brown.

The below picture shows a character from Sega's Eternal Champions. He is basically what I have in mind for the zappawadda's male hero.

Forgot to say that it'd be cool to see zappa's story start the collab and mine finish it. Coming full circle usually hints at more stories to come.

@frameslinger....sorry to say..but after checking out your brief work history, i dont feel you are up to the skill level we are looking for....eaglestudio will be taking over for the blue part. I will say though...you are welcome to animate a part for BROWN, and give it to me...if it is up to scratch then i will include it..if not....im sorry....

its a risk....but thats part of me making sure this collaboration is of a high quality!
