Well, I was talking to Red about it, and we agree that each co-author should write their own animations, but to have each of our shorts associated with each other in a collab, we need a recurring theme, or a similar focal points....be they inanimate objects, a place, or even a person.
A prime example would be the Loc-Nar from the Heavy Metal movie. Each animated segment were cast differently, set in their own unique time-period, in their own continuity, done absolutely different from one another...but what kept them connected was the Loc-Nar's ominous presence in each short.
Every short was connected between by, and focused around the Loc-Nar...some did it blatantly, like that futuristic New York driver having to deliver it to a bunch of power-hungry mob-bosses, and some did it so subtly, it could've done just as well without it, like that scene at the Pentagon and the secretary that fucked that robot. (....in case you don't know what I'm talking about, it's a great movie, you should all see it. :D)
But they all had the Loc-Nar. Evil green orb that poisoned mankind's mind, in various shapes and forms and settings.
In an attempt to pull something original out of my ass, I suggested we each write a segment around a beautiful female criminal...an elusive mastermind of the gritty downtown environment, a hired gun, yet a deadly manipulator of underground criminal organizations, and a cancer to the police force.
So we can add a twist of intriguing mystery and namelessness to her, "Lady Noir."
It could be in the present, it could be her with her daring husband, "Bonnie and Clyde" style, it could be from the perspective of a boy who got caught up in the middle of a gunfight between her and a Mexican Cartel. It could be from the perspective of a Guedo mob-boss being interrogated at gunpoint by her in a top-class strip club.
Be her role where she's only seen once or twice in the short, or even from her perspective in it's entirety, it could have a fuckload of potential.
I typed a damned novel-and-a-half of my own ideas on how it could go...but let's see what this group is capable of devising.
First thing's first. Are you okay with our "'Loc-Nar' focal point" being "Lady Noir?"
This is something I just shat out just now...don't take it too finalized, it's just a first draft.
