Ben was a great animator, still remember the stick slayer series and the vs xiaou xiaou spin offs. He was a sound guy too, you could email him and he'd reply and offer help. I think it's a shame people are so cynical about this post and the guys memory. He's from an era when NG was going places, paved the way for you young assholes. I think a memorial page would be a good idea.

well he's dead. May his soul rest in peace for all eternity. But I will tell you this. I have nothing but apathy for anyone who died the way he did. He had it coming since the first time shot up. He was a dumb ass who had his whole life ahead of him and threw it all way for some petty high feeling. Let this be a smack in the face to ALL drug users out there. It will fuck your shit up, and when you die. I will have no sympathy for you.

I think the lack of oxygen from being on his high horse has got to him.

Rest in peace, Ben. I'm truly sorry. Losing a loved one is never easy, but it's good to see so many people mourning for him. As you can see, the real big deal is how NICELY you live, not how LONG you live. I got to know this from my psychologist, so you can tell that it's correct.

By the way, tell Stamper to quit smoking. I hate to say this, but if he continues on like that, he'll be the next one, and you guys WILL be feeling sorry for not trying hard enough to convince him in time, at least to go see a doctor. Quitting smoking is not impossible if he tries to quit it by reducing it over time, you know that, but you should at least tell him to see a doctor first.

Ben wasn't just one of us, he was the best of us. Look, I know that overdosing on drugs is a dumb way to go; but the nasty attitude of certain people's views on this is just unconscienable. He along with Mindchamber, Tom, Wade, Dan Paladin, Em Kaah (whereabouts unknown), McFretN, Doomhammr, Clark Lybek, Randy Solem, Sirkowski, Edmund McMillen, and many others shaped this site into what it is today.

Wow. I liked the series, and he was a pretty good animator. Too bad hes dead. I think we'll all miss him.

I didn't feel so bad about any of this until I realized Ben made Pimp's Quest.

For me, that's like Tom Fulp dying.

Bad taste joke aside, how did he die?

It's sad that someone as young as he was has gone so soon. Perhaps the most admirable part was that he still was a newgrounds contributor at an age that most see as when you stop doing this sort of thing. I'm sure he will be missed.

Also, the memorial page is a good idea. An idea for the format should probably be that it is a list of links to user pages, instead of individual submissions- whole lifetimes of submissions would make a really oversized page.

Shame RIP! We should remember this day as NG users day, 24/10 :'(

I remember playing Pimps Quest/watching stick slayer back when...so sad that he died, may he rest in peace.

My mouth actually kinda dried up when I saw stick slayer on the front page, I just knew something was wrong...
