My condolences to his family. I am sorry for his death, but I still cannot treat him as a hero.
I don't think anywhere is it stated he was a hero, its was a good guy, a good friend and had an amazing imagination. Stop reading into things.

Wow, you counter with the only game he made that didn't include sticks. You have way too much time on your hands. Still, you don't know the guy, so why should you care?
What's eating your grapes?
cant say i have heard of the guy until now or even of stick slayer cause i am fairly new to this page but i would like to pay my respects
may he find peace

Aren't you dead?
Nothing will ever be more irrelevant than the negative opinions on this thread. If you were Ben's friend, then you think differently than the masses just waiting to drop self-righteous comments about how he died to make themselves feel better about the way they live their lives. As far as Ben's role in NG...he was a pioneer of some amazing series that people copied endlessly, as well as the holder of the #1 ALL TIME spot with Pimp's Quest before half of you guys knew what Newgrounds was. That's why he's being paid tribute to on the front page. It's really that simple.
I am deeply sorry for this loss not only does this affect the all time lovers of stick slayer but many people who were close to ben let us remember how he affected all of our lives ='[
rest in peace dude, you'll be remembered...
He made his decisions, he was a good man, just made a wrong choice, just goes to show what can happen.. It's sad that people are dissing him. How low have THEY sunk...
I never knew him, though I may have seen one of his animations.
Rest in peace, Ben.

I...think im going to be sick. He just passed away on my birthday. I have seen the slayer movies and they were pretty awsome. Why did he had to do drugs? It seemed he lived a happy life and such,
i know i wasnt around, well i was but not on here, during the 2000's, i only became a member in 07/08, but i do send my thoughts and love to his family. indeed losing some one is not easy. so to the family i am deeply sorry and i do think that there should be a memorial page i think it would be very kind and wonderful to remember those who have passed. in any case, to Ben's family, i am deeply sorry.
Fuck-Division i agree with u all the way, i mean what kind of sick fuck would say some thing like that, i mean a man is dead, and it doent matter how or what he did in life or how he died, its just sick. i feel sick just thinking about it. if some one i hated died i would never ever say such a thing. u know what to the fucker who said that this... LyansPryde i hope this happens to u and maybe i'll say the same thing and lets see how u feel, huh? u know what, how about u just get off here if ur going to be that way.
hav a nice fuckin day, fuck face
I'm not sure I can say anything that hasn't been said. I've been lucky though to never have anyone really close to me die. But I still have his family in my prayers.
It's okay, I understand you're not as awesome as me.
Tis truly sad, i liked his works alot. Talented and inspiring guy.
Rest in peace bro....
His animation wasn't to my taste.
But he was still a good guy I suppose!
I think people should never be that disrespectful about people. If you're friend or colleage died you would definatly be sad too. You wouldn't appreciate someone laughing in your face "Your mate is dead!". Ben was probably a good guy, I'm going to pay my respects anyways.
Good luck to anyone who has been affected, I'm really sorry guys.

you havent contributed nothing to this site. i think stick figures is better then just joining a site to talk shit on post, not to mention he drew more then just stick figures so suck my dick.
You won't have to worry about him anymore.
Huh... I saw a couple of Ben's animations a few years ago before I got my account, they were some of the best I'd seen, I would have got into animation due to that, but I'm shit and don't know anyone who does it. I know a couple of people who have died like that, it's horrible to witness.
Just read through all the posts on here, and i'm a little disturbed.
Really, people? Just because someone dies of a drug overdose, you can't have sympathy for them? Or even the family they've left behind? What the fuck is wrong with you?
A great animator and, by all accounts of those who knew him personally, a good man died. He will be missed, if only for his animation. People mourn his death. If you don't care, then leave those who do alone.
Again, R.I.P. Ben. I did not know you personally, but your flash helped shape Newgrounds into what it is today. Even if some of those who inhabit it are worthless fuckheads.
