I'll admit, the ads are stupid, especially that one for Dungeons and Dragons online, which I'm sure everyone has seen at least a hundred times over. I don't have a problem with them, but I think they're targeting the wrong kinds of people. An ad for Combat Arms makes sense, but the Pony Stars... what the hell? Last time I checked, this wasn't a site for six year old girls.
But yeah, the ads used to be worse. Several years ago, there were ads that had sound that did not shut off until you went to another page (I wonder if anyone still remembers that football one with the audience cheering that would never shut up). Imagine having that going off while you're trying to watch a movie or play a game on here. And yes, we used to have loads of those old-fashioned pop up ads that opened up in a new window.
Honestly, you might dislike these ads, but they used to be far, far worse. This is nothing in comparison.
