Rap and Rock arent that Popular

Some people say that rap or rock is the most popular music in the world but the truth is 1 billion only listen to it or probably even less. The world population is 8 billion very close to hitting 9 and i bet you most of the polulation of earth probably listens to some wierd chinese music, why? Well most people in the world live in china or the asia so im pretty sure they made there own music over there.

No actually the number of people in the world, starting at the beginning of this month, is 6,800,435,588. Not to mention the number of people who listen to rock or rap in all variations is 2,843,081 this being of the most recent statistics. Therefore the percentage of people who listen to rock or rap in all variations is around 40%. So they're both very popular genres.

I don't see how these extra people can have any effect on music statistics then. If they don't have access to technology, they aren't avoiding rap/rock out of choice, it's because they just don't have it.

Their aren't many tribes like that left, if any. And i think those Variables are included in the General estimate. So a certain percentage of that 6 billion is probably considered to be those people you describe.

You do realize that most genres of music are available on a global scale. Many hard rock bands are even MORE popular in asian nations than their own.

You clearly know nothing about other cultures if you think they just, you know, listen to "Weird Chinese Music or something" I went to a school with a lot of young people from a lot of other cultures, and a lot of the liked rap and rock. You think they honestly stopped listening to that when they went back?

I've also listened to music from other countries that could clearly be classed as Rock and Rap. There's even tribute bands, and artists that take their inspiration from American and English bands.
Hell, even older people in those countries listen to rock from certain eras.

My assumption of the worlds most popular music is that it would be hymns, since there is about a billion Catholics in the world, not to mention all the other Christian groups like Protestants, Lutherans, Orthodox and all the other sub-categories.
