This may have been the business model from the beginning, but it probably happened because Hulu was getting acquired by several businesses.
Soooo...You gave us free TV shows online and then decided to say "FUCK IT, I want more money!" Cause that is business capital baby. You provide a service people want and make it less inconvenient to the person. You make good quality streaming TV shows available to a user with a decent interenet connection. People loved hulu because of this.
Well I am against this for two reasons:
1. I watched hulu because it was free. Used to I would download my TV shows, but that can be a hassle sometimes because you never know if a torrent is dead or when someone is going to upload or at what rate. You have to find the right tracker, etc. With hulu your show is right there BAM! Watch it with just a couple of commercials. Why not? It's not a big deal. So I have to pay to use it now then what is going to stop me from going back to my old method of downloading off of the Internet? Nothing, I'm not loyal to you hulu. You are good, but I'm not paying you just so you can make extra money.
2. I compare Internet to cable. People pay for cable and they get to watch as many TV shows they want and it all depends on the package you get. I have the Internet which provides a lot of things and they decided to add TV into the mix. So now you want me to pay because...It would be like me owning cable and paying money to each individual network just so I can watch the shows on those networks. $5 a month to watch Fox, $12 to watch Showtime, $8 to watch USA, etc. I find it to be ridiculous.
Thoughts?
