Well no one wants that. We're probably hard-wired to not want that. But its nothing but an errant wish. Even so, an afterlife would meant that we continue to exist somewhere else. Humanity would be supreme if we continuned to exist despite the total destruction of our world.
Still though its complicated. What sort of afterlife do you want? Equal, or discriminatory? Where would say, animals go, bacteria's? If theirs an afterlife, than would that not suggest that all living things go there? Or is it just reserved for sentiants and sapients?
