The best thing you can do is find some video tutorials on the basics and watch them. Good quality ones. Here, try some of these.

I did a tutorial for fun on some very basics, you can see that too.

Good luck!

You can still draw with your mouse.

Anyway, heres what you do.

Find a sprite sheet you want off of google images. Lets say you want Mario. Search for "Mario Sprite Sheet". put the image into Flash, and right click, and select "break apart". Delete the background and everything and you've got just the sprites.

I wouldn't call it "too advanced" but it is different than traditional animation to a degree. You have to find the sprites and such, and the work isn't technically your own because you're using copyrighted images. If you care about that sort of thing. Also it's really REALLY hard to make a good sprite movie. Original art, even if it isn't terrific, is better accepted than just sprites.

oh ok. well i can draw pretty well so i was going to get a tablet and make my own comic series i have everything all planned out i just wanted to make a short film with sprites to get the general concept of movie making.yea i kno about the whole copyright thing. i was goin to give credit where it was due.
my comic was going to be all hand drawn on paper, scanned and edited in photoshop then animated with marcomedia.

thanks for the help guys

it was the breaking the sprites apart and making them move i was having problems with...i think i got it now tho
