Oh boy. Does no one have a bullshit detector anymore? Before I state my point, I understnad that people believe and have faith that life exists on other planets. Now, while I do think it would be nice, I don't think there are. There is no substantial proof either way, no decisive evidence to prove aliens exist. But, I won't begrudge the possibilty, I just think it's unlikely that there is life outside this small blue planet.
Alien abductions, UFOs and visitors from another world are complete bullshit. The reason for this is that all of the so called stories are largely fabricated. Let's start with alien abductions. Firstly, every so called abductee was not awake when they were being abducted. Ofcourse, they were never abducted to begin with. They just thought they were. This all happens in dreams. Secondly, all of the so called aliens they "saw" are usually taken from popular culture. Having the generic alien appearance. Thirdly, these "memories" of their abductions are often forced later because they are convinced that they were abducted go see a therapist and that therapist implants false memories into their minds. Basically what any person who believes in moronic pseudo-sciences would do. UFO's and crop circles are easy to fake with easy special effects and are often illusions and other trickery. Finally, visitors from other worlds don't happen. Like I said, I don't believe that aliens exist at all but I'll let that slide. If they did exist, what's to say that they are more advanced then our own planet? It would take a LONG time to get to this planet if that were the case. Plus what makes this planet so special to warrant visitors? It doesn't make much sense if you ask me. I mean, why would aliens just come to fuck with us? We have titty bars there is plenty to do here, why fuck with us?
Really, turn on your bullshit detectors people. I understand people have beliefs and want meaning in their cold existence. But belief should not be the cost of the truth.
I suggest watching the Alien Abductions episode of Penn and Teller's Bullshit. As well as read up on Carl Sagan. An Astronomer who believed in life on other planets but was very skeptical of alien abductions and mindless pseudo-sciences.
