Now, don't get me wrong, I love these things. They're easily portable, they store plenty of data, and unlike the old floppy disks they don't become unusable after being in a 3-ring binder or a pocket. They're a fine method of data storage and are very useful for carrying, say, Alts.txt between home and school (allowing me to access NG and my e-mail from the computer center).
But these things are so easy to lose! Their small size, the very characteristic that makes them amazingly portable, means that they're easy to lose if, say, one falls out of your coat pocket. I've owned two, and I've managed to lose them three times. One of them I haven't found again, and the other I had to search for two weeks to find once and two hours to find the second time. I spent $20 on the one I lost for good. Yep, that's $20, right down the fucking toilet because it fell out of my pocket (my pants pocket, somehow) while I was eating!
These things need to come with a tracking device, something where you can use a cell phone or something to find it once it's lost.
