I just finished reading up about this new RPG FPS game thats coming to consoles and PC and watched a video of the gameplay on steam, and to tell you the truth i didn't see anything spectacular about it, its riding on the apocalypse bandwagon like so many games have since the release of fallout 3, but the graphics and the characters and monsters look pretty ordinary.

I don't know anyone who's played the beta version of this game that could tell me how it really does look but i'd be interested to hear in anyone who supports this game.

Personally i'm not going to waste money on it unless it blows my mind.

This game is great so far.
It came out today for X360/PS3.
Loving pretty much everything about it so far.

It's like Fallout 3 but more shooting than role playing.

look: I changed my sig again.

Same here. It looks like it could be good, but there's just nothing about it that jumps out at me.

Why does everything apocalyptic have to be associated with Fallout 3?

It looks fairly promising. But I can't really be sure until I try a copy. Doesn't seem to have much of a story. Also when did Fallout 3 become the norm for anything that involves the apocalypse?

There really isn't.... But I don't mind, I don't really pay attention. I've only seen one cutscene so far... i think.

I think you should shut up and play the game!

It's pretty fun, and the art style is really cool. It bears very little resemblance to Fallout 3 in my opinion. Both were FPS, but the gameplay between the two are very different. Fallout 3 focused more on the VATS system and the turn based side of it's combat. Borderlands plays more like a traditional FPS favoring run and gun tactics.

The story is lacking, and I do find myself all but ignoring the reasoning behind why I'm doing each missions, but the game is really enjoyable and a lot of fun. So it makes up for it's lacking in the story department.

Played the game for 6 hours straight, loved every minute of it. The only thing that might drive people away is how the beginning isn't too fun, but after you reach level 5 it's a blast.

I gotta wait 5 days and 13 hours until I get Borderlands. Then after that I still gotta wait for it to download. Stupid Steam not wanting to release the PC version early. Why the hell are they releasing it a week later?

I'm having fun with it. Got to level 15 today, just playing by myself. I wasn't sure if this would be a game that's enjoyable alone, or if you need people, but I was satisfied being by myself. I did join one game online just to check it out, and it had some pretty bad lag. Hopefully it was just that game though, and it's not always like that.

I'm more interested in getting it for the PC however, for the controls, better graphics and smoother frame rate. As well as a modding community, because it seems like a game that will thrive with some great user made content.

And it feels very well done for an FPS game. Some times games like this focus on so many other elements, the FPS aspect isn't as polished as it could be. I love Fallout 3, but if you aren't fighting in VATs, the FPS gun play is a bit, unrefined. It just doesn't feel right trying to run and gun, but I guess that's not really how you're supposed to play. This game definitely feels good control wise.

I've been refurbished and reissued, prepackaged and precooked, decontaminated and deloused, but I still smell, sound, look and feel like shit.

New to the video game forums?

Since I don't have any friends, you've sold me.

I'm guessing it's one of those games that plays a lot better than it looks? For example Fallout 3 looked alright from the gameplay videos but when you actually played the game it was so much better then you'd expected.

Either way I'm going to buy this game, although I think I'll wait until the price drops a little bit.

Borderlands is the kind of game that is just AMAZING for the first two weeks, but the minor bugs, gaming flaws and inconveniences start to wear out a rut in your brain, and you get annoyed, even angry at the game for it's tiny cons.

a la Fallout 3

Solution: Don't overhype a game, and don't overplay a game, and you'll definitely enjoy.

Its not a post apocalyptic game.

You are on a planet called pandora. People tried to colonize it some time in the past, and realized there was nothing useful on it, so they abandoned it, leaving a small population behind.

Why do you retards assume desert setting = post-apocalyptic?

I'm not really that interested in it right now, but I will adventually get around to renting it. I'm more interested in trying out Uncharted 2 aswell as a few other games before I'll even bother getting around to this one.
