Don't !
I started with poker with my dad online at pokerstars. Went pretty good.
My dad sucked at it so he gave his account to me with like 20 dollars left. I played some tournements and won like 400 dollars, I was happy but I didn't really saw it as money, just some numbers to play with.

I started to play 100 dollar double or nothing sit and go's. Won some, lost some. My bankroll was now like 350 dollars, I was planning to cash it out but I wanted to play some more one night. the worst poker night ever. Started out fine, but got some suck outs and tilted like hell. Played way to high limits and tourneys. The result was losing my 350 dollars.

Now I'm still depositing money, winning and eventually losing it. It's so addicting, I'm currently broke and not planning to deposit anymore, but yeah, that's what I said to myself all the other times.

You should practice bankroll management.
www.flopturnriver.com

Go there and read up. I turned 1 dollar into 500 and am still going strong. With like 400 bankroll Im usually only playing like the 5 dollar tourney/sit and goes and 10nl for cash games. So playing 100 DoN is very unprofitable on that roll size.

I won, like, 30 cents in some poker once.

Best day of my life. I went out and murdered a prostitute to celebrate.

What you reallly should have done is played within your bankroll and waited till you got to be rolled for a decent level and you can make frequent cashouts without hurting your bankroll to such a large extent as doing 100 dollar sit and gos withonly 500 dollars or whatever. I play 10NL, a buyin at the table is 10 dollars. I have 510 dollars. I have 51 BI, BI= BUYINS a BI is 100bb bb=big blinds. 20-30 is a solid amount of buyins to move up the next level. As you start to get higher tho, like 100nl + you might want to start having more buyins , but just go to www.flopturnriver.com you'll find stuff about bankroll management and a bunch more.

I haven't been playing much online poker right now. I've turned one dollar into about fourty bucks at one point, but now my account's back to twenty bucks. I haven't had much of a chance to play either since I've been working twelve-hour shifts. Once I get some time to do so, you can gaurantee I'll be back at it trying to get my account up where I think I can get it.

I can't stand playing poker online anymore.

I use to play with my friends in a garage where seven or so of us would throw in $10 and second place would get $20 and the winner would get $50. One game would last for hours so we'd all hotbox the garage with cigars. Good thing it was a heated garage too, Prairie winters are cold.

Thankfully some of us aren't silly with money. Whenever I play Texas hold em online I only bet a small amount and it's about playing not winning big bucks. It should be about fun, not the stakes.

Gee, I wonder why some people find the concept of possibly winning large amounts of money appealing? It's a total mystery.

It's not always about the money.

Some are in it for the rush.
