Obama is kicking the idea of legalizing marijuana for legal use only around. I have VERY bad eyes, and a condition known as keratoconus. I already had a corneal transplantation January of 2006, a surgery which is normally given to people in their old age. If he legalizes weed for medicinal use, do you think I would be able to get access to it?

I thought marijuana was already legalized for medicinal use for like cancer patients and when prescribed by a doctor or something. Are you talking about over the counter or what?

That system is also very loose. Some doctors will write you a prescription if you pay them for it and claim you have some general pain. You don't even have to be specific. All you have to say is that you hurt somewhere and they will barely examine you. I don't care much if people want to smoke, but the idea of a doctor taking money to give out prescriptions for pot when they know they don't need to drags down the image of a supposedly prestigious and respected occupation in my eyes.

Yep, and the sad thing is that you don't really even need a legitimate medical problem to get a license. Basically you go in, say you have back problems, sleep disorder, etc., and they'll approve you.

Well, it's not a sad thing for me, because medical marijuana is abundant where I'm from and it's incredibly dank. The sad thing is that elsewhere in the U.S, people who would really benefit medically from marijuana can't have it.
