Shooter; Actionscripter Request

Hi Flash, long time...

In the Art Forum we're trying to organize a game that everyone can contribute to, we have decided that we'd like to do a scrolling shooter type game (little animation lots of different art elements, relatively simple) based on a dream or dreams (so that there doesn't need to be any thematic link between levels).

We're going to need an actionscripter for this project, it's going to be not-for-profit work with any earnings going to charity, but, I believe, it would be a good, worthwhile project to be involved in with lots of eager contributors.

We would like to have a lot of features for this game, including; horizontal and vertical scrolling levels, power-ups, a leveling system, high scores, achievements (or medals if that's possible), level selection etc. We don't want it to be just any old scrolling shooter, we are looking for ingenuity and enthusiasm from a programmer.

There is one of the best side-scrolling shooter tutorials I've ever seen. You may still want a full time actionscripter, but if you don't find one you could probably use that.

I'm glad that there are some people interested, we're still hammering out some of the details of how this project will be handled, both in the coding department and in other areas.

Please look over the thread in the Art Forum for more details.

Tom has suggested possibly using more than one coder, I don't know enough about AS to know how well that would work, but it's an interesting suggestion.

Also, we're possibly looking for "idea" people, who don't necessarily have skills in AS or art but are interested in things like boss attack patterns, enemy spawn patterns and level layout, so if you're interested in that, or doing some programming or art let yourself be heard either in this thread or the discussion thread over in the Art Forum.
