I just saw wtwta too. There have been a lot of good book adaptations but as for video games the only reason is because video games aren't the most story based things. You run around and kill things and in some instances collect things. Now for the player this is pretty fun but movies have to get more creative. There has to be a plot and such. Video games are mostly desensitized because you can do anything you want but when movies try to do it they just end up making a horrible movie. I remember seeing house of the dead directed by that one guy and it really stunk.

Personal Motto: I am awesome and that's putting it modestly

Hollywood, furthermore that hack Spielberg, should never touch the Korean film, OldBoy.
Oh wait.

How do you know that? The movie's only in pre-production. It's like two years away from coming out.

I know Hollywood's always been about making money, but I think the general reason bad movies come out of them is when making money is the soul purpose of making movies, and the art of directing, writing, acting and so on is thrown out the window. Of course, bad is a subjective term, but when you see that the overall opinion of critics on Rotten Tomatoes and users on IMDb is negative for a certain movie, then you get a strong sense of what people feel, because RT and IMDb are big sites for movies.

Also, Hollywood itself is not to blame. It's the people from Hollywood. Not everyone there works on the same movie.

I can already see the basic plot of the movie:

Samuel L. Jackson will yell "I'm sick of this mutha fuckin' caterpillar eating my mutha fuckin' leaf!"

And then randomly, Megan Fox will run in slo-mo on screen dressed in a leaf costume running away from said caterpillar.

Respect, it's what I do...Then again, so is UberCream's job.

The Lord of the Rings movies removed quite a bit of needless filler, and just kept most of the epic parts in

why does hollywood have to do this? Take a perfectly good thing (eg mario) and turn it into crap (eg mario bros movie). That was one movie rental that I regret.
What do you think hollywood should never touch and turn into a movie?
SO ANYWAYS What do you think hollywood should never touch and turn into a movie?

It's not Hollywood's fault if some idiot comes along with a bullshit idea. Why do you think the Mario movie was horrible?
1. the story
2. the visuals
3. the actors
4. its Mario "in name only". no relevance to the games whatsoever.
5. pocket change budget

The moment this retard came in with a story about making Mario into reality, what do you think the reactions were? Hollywood (if thats even the company that budgeted them) probably LOL'd and threw him a few thousand dollars, telling him to go make it.

Regardless of how good or bad it is, it probably would have been profitable just because it's "Mario". If not... oh well.

The new ones like Dragon Ball movie (omg lmfao) showed hardly any depth in acting qualities or visual effects. It's not Dragon Ball. It's a movie. Get over it. Same thing with all the other stuff you "dont want to become a movie."

Even if you see most as spitting in the face of whatever story you revere as your holy scripture, there are people who can take it to their own style, and blow you away (the Red Riding Hood flash was awesome)

Nobody liked the fact that a white guy thought he could be Goku, being a complete loser in the script. If it stayed true to the manga... who knows. Anyone get my point?

Falling, falling, hurting cold, within Fall's tender breeze;
Applauding still, the Endless claps, when falling droplets cease.

Now I thought Mortal Kombat, aside from how they treated the ninjas, was a fairly good adaptation.

The sequel is what ruined it.

The book The Giver. It's a really good book, but as you find out later in the book, the whole WORLD as well as the people are all grey, black, and white, and there's no pain, and no...

If you're talking about Where the Wild Things Are, that shit was directed by Spike Jonze. They could not have picked a better director for that job.
