My dad says I am "ridiculously underweight".
I am roughly 6 feet 1 inches tall, and weigh 130 pounds. He says I should weigh atleast 160 - 170 pounds.
What is the average weight for somebody my size? And at my age?

I'm 5'11" (and still growing) and I hover around 135 pounds. But yes, we are both underweight, he is right, but there's nothing really wrong with it right now, once you drop below 125 though, you really need to start eating some calories though.

I don't really want to weigh anymore than I do though. I guess I do have a bit of a fear of becoming overweight, at a young age I was chubby, and I hate looking at old photos of me because of that.
Would it hurt to put on a few pounds? You can literally see my ribs without me sucking in, and I have barely any fat on my body...

If you aren't limiting yourself you'll be fine. Eat what you want, and eventually your metabolism will catch up with you.

Yes, you are. At least for me it was. I'm 6'2. I dropped to 130. I look at pictures of myself from back then. I looked like a skeleton. I looked so sickly, but never noticed it myself when I was that skinny.

Don't worry, just makes you more prone to serious infections but you couldn't give a fuck about that right? You're too hard-core to live obviously.
Swallow your sugar pills, inject your saline, breath in some hydroxide mist and have a nice day.

You're looking at this the wrong way - When you want to gain weight, don't try to gain fat. Why not fitness for a bit? Gain some muscle, this is healthy and good for your self esteem. Just don't overdo it (especially if you're young)

Yeah, you should definately gain some weight. I'm also underweight( 5"8 or so and 110 lbs.), and that sucks ass. I've been getting bigger by eating more than I usually do and doing daily exercise. You could probably do the same.

You do want an amount of body fat for excess energy- if you are ever trapped and starving, it will save your life. But, you could at least build up some muscle mass to protect your organs from trauma. It it would also help you bulk up without the "chubby" factor that you seem worried about. Just one thing- when you bulk up with muscle mass instead of fat, ignore the BMI scale- it doesn't consider the muscle, so it would consider you overweight if you had no fat, but a solid muscular structure.

From your height and weight it sounds like you are, but numbers like that can be deceptive before you take into account bone/muscle mass.

Here is a pic of my stomach. No sucking in or anything, that's me standing. And I'm not standing tall in that pic, I'm slanted so the webcam could see it all.

From that pic you should put on some weight.
By weight I mean both fat and muscle. Try to eat a lot of protein/fats and do anaerobic exercize. Eat red meat and eggs. lift weights

It's better to be slightly overweight than underweight. As long as you keep turning those pounds into muscles you are alright.

I have an older brother who's your height, he's 183lbs, Then again he is 26. I'd say the average would be around 160 - 170lbs i'm not sure though.
But yes you are under weight; hell I weigh more than you do and I'm 5ft 10in and a year younger than you are. I wouldn't worry about it too much though you'll probably start to thicken out eventually.

Yup. You're 6 inches over what someone that weight's height should be. Nothing big though, just gain 10 points.
