Listen to the song Welcome Home by Coheed and Cambria.
My band wants to play this for a gig, but we are not sure what they are using for effects, or if they are using a keyboard. How are they playing this song? any ideas?
btw, my band consists of:
1 drummer 1 bass 2 guitars 1 singer
is this song doable?
Rattle your head. Listen to my music.

I fucking love that song. And yeah, I guess it's possible to play, but I doubt you'll ever make it sound as epic.
"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free"

In all reality it's not that hard of a song to play.
I've played the song in it's entirety but not on the same level as the actual band has.
Fuck mang Coheed & Cambria has better songs than just this one, try to branch out a lil more.

i know it isn't their best, we want to start the gig off with this, play hanger 18 by megadeth, cowboys from hell by pantera, and either end the gig with home sweet home by motley crue or seek and destroy by metallica.

Yes it's doable, actually any song by any band is doable if you have 2 guitarists and bassist with drums and vocals. Just get an audio sampler playing in the background for effects if you really want to sound like the bands, playing live doesn't really matter though.

it actually works in an odd way. For some songs, one guy is the singer and i play lead guitar, and for others, i sing and he plays lead guitar. we trade off.
and btw, he'll probably be singing this song.
