These came right off the top of my head, and were some things I was looking to create a short story sometime in the near future:

1. A man who lost his job
2. Someone who is trying to find their family, but ends up finding a clone of themselves
3. The worst part of a terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad day.

Write about a school shooting, a suicide, a murder, an obsession with a lover to the point where the guy makes love to his girlfriend's corpse (minimum sex) and fat children.

Is there any limitations?

Not really to be honest.
I already have like 4 pieces done though, so I'm okay hah. I plan on doing about 7

Try to make a controversal story so your teacher feels uneasy talking to you about it. Something like a school shooting with a strangely familar familar setting or some strange mad-man's obsession over someone who is strangely familar to the teacher in question.

Here are my ideas:

1. A story about a girl obsessed with Twilight, she dies horribly.
2. Fantasy story revolving around chicks with massives tits wielding massive swords and all of them wearing very unprotective armour... though, this probably has been done before.
3. Horror story revolving around a broken heart.

That help? Because really, I am bored enough to give advice.

1. Write from the perspective of an animal.

2. Write about an alien who is pretending to be a frat member.

3. Write about Superman, and have him decide not to save anyone and just leave earth. This can be a sad one.

4. Write about a boy who finds this cat in an alley and befriends it, and over the years he and the cat share many memories together, and then have him encounter the cat one day and he tries to wake it up but realizes it has died, and have him become very depressed.

5. Write about a buisnesman who has a by chance encounter with an angel and decides to do good.
