This shit has ruined cryptid shows.
I used to love watching Animal X as a kid, which was these half hours shows, broken down into 3 segments, each dealing with some mythical animal, like Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster or whatever.
They'd talk about the legend, talk to eye witnesses, and look at evidence, while having creepy as fuck voiceovers and music playing. At age 8, these things combined had me convinced I would be eaten by a megalania or mauled by a black dog. It was awesome.
I recently got nostalgic over it after seeing a few bits on youtube, and went to try and download some, but could only find these other two shows, "MonsterQuest" and "Destination Truth". I though "whatever, it'll be the same shit" and downloaded a few.
Turns out now all that happens is people run around in the dark or set camera traps that won't photograph anything.
Thing is with these sort of shows, you go into it KNOWING they're not going to find anything, so they shouldn't pretend that they might. Instead, just talk about the legend and shit. That's more interesting than some moron stumbling around the woods for an hour.
