Good Designer? Help. These Are Sad.

Over at AwesomeStart (a site that has custom Google startpages) we just put up a new feature so users can design their own startpages. We decided as a policy that we're going to approve anything within our terms of service, regardless of how good or bad it is. The result? Well...mostly less than beautiful.

We designed it to be really easy to use. I would love to see some of you guys give it a shot, in hopes that we get some more polished user themes...but more so, I'm hoping to get some feedback from everyone here. What can I do promotion wise to help ensure we attract better designers? Who do you think would be most interested in something like this, and what's the best way to nudge them over to the site?

I included an example here. If you make a page and it comes out any good, make sure to enter a URL after you save it to publish it to the site.

Cash incentives work. If a designer makes an awesome page and gets high usage, give them some cash for every hit.

Yeah, someone from the board made that newgrounds theme a few years ago. It matched what the site looked like back then a bit better.

I'd love to see someone make a newgrounds theme using the create page.

We could also use themes for the newgrounds games...
