Thoughts on Borderlands

Okay so by the description and gameplay mechanics it looks like a mix between Fallout 3 and L4D. But hey is that such a bad thing? It looks pretty good, but im still on the fence if im going to spend my money on it. What do you guys think? If I do decide to get it, should I reserve it with gamesop? Im not sure if you get any exclusive weapons or not.

i've not really looked into this game all that much since I don't plan on buying it. Normally the graphics aren't something that I bother about when it comes to games, but I don't like the look of the art style they have gone for at all.

I watched a little of the live gameplay that was being shown last night as well. Didn't look too appealing to me.

I think it's highly overrated and overhyped, I usually dislike RPG's and this game is no exception. I'm not going to buy it if it doesn't impress me as much as Fallout 3 did.

If I had money to spend on games right now, I would totally buy it. This game looks like it could take up a lot of my free time. Reserving it gives you exclusive weapons I heard, but they are eventually replaced by better ones later on in the game.

There was a gameplay stream yesterday, and it looked pretty good. Graphics were nice, shooting and damage dealing looked smooth.

I've got a preorder on it, and I'm pretty excited for Tuesday, so I can pick it up. It isn't like I'm running around saying it's better than sex, either, because that kind of hype usually ruins any game. I'm just looking forward to it.

I preordered it and I'm looking forward to playing it but I'm keeping my expectations reasonable. I have a friend (lol, wut?) and we're going to play it co-op online, should be a good time. =]

I've played the game before, plenty of polish went into it and there isn't ever really too much on screen.
This game is cool, go buy it.

There aren't many problems with it. Some of the skills you can choose really don't feel like they make any difference, but there really are countless guns. I haven't seen the same one twice. Its also nice how they all look slightly different and have different firing mechanics and sound according to make and model.

There isn't much in the way of armor or a clothing system other than a recharging energy shield reminiscent of Halo. You can change your color to gain some distinctiveness online, but that's it. Playing with other people is surprisingly fun, but don't expect to be raking in Lo0t. People snatch up chest items before anyone else can and I've witnessed so many bitching matches between idiots over a shitty gun. I suggest playing with a friend or two with different classes so you can democratically divide loot.

If you enjoy Fallout 3, or even COD4, you should really look into Borderlands.

Anyways, it's a great game if you're into shooters with RPG elements.

Stop Comparing it to Fallout 3.
Fallout 3 is an RPG with shooter elements, Borderlands is a shooter with RPG elements.

And they're both post apocaliptic.

Just wanna corect you. Fallotu 3 is post-apocaliptic but Borderlands is just on a deserted planet, there was no war, but it look a lot like it because mining and stuff were done on the entire planet. And it's been a while ago, so the people left on the planet just done whatever they could, survivng and raiding etc. And this game is really nice, get yourself some friend and play it in group, it boost the difficulty because alone is, well is too easy.

The game is a bit difficult. And it's extremely time consuming. (Takes about a week to beat)
You have to do a lot of side quests.
If you don't, you'll be low leveled and you'll get raped in the ass.
The plot and co-op is okay.
It gets boring really fast, seeing that most of what you do is kill respawning monsters and going back and forth of side quests.

Personally, I finished my first playthrough the other day, and I was kind of dissapointed. It's not a bad game by any means, but in my oppinion it just kind of get's a bit repetitive.

The game is much better with other people you know. Also, I like the fact that there's an almost endless amount of weapons you can use, each with different attributes. If it weren't for that, yeah, I would probably say the game would get a little boring and shabby after a while.

I think its pretty good. Maybe not the best game I've ever played, but its still very decent and it does get better the more you go through the game.

So I'm on my second play through and the frist quests give shit XP rewards and get harder before you can attain the appropriate level.

Also, its become relatively repetitive. I'm almost bored with it.

I've had it for 5 days.
